We were all very happy with the food, the decor, the service, and it was sparkling clean. I have lived in ABQ since July and my kids love Chinese buffets. We tried Hong Kong but it is waaaay too far from Tramway. Evergreen Buffet closed in Jan 2012 (closest to us) and Lin's is very beautiful but more than $10 per person and with 4 of us, that's over $50 to eat with drinks. So we tried AA Buffet for the first time tonight. The sign on the corner of Juan Tabo and Lomas looks kinda seedy but the inside of the place is VERY NICE. Lots of etched glass, beautiful colored panels backlit in the ceiling with koi and asian ladies etc. Chairs are all very sturdy and well made (unlike Lins). Food is fresh, and tasty, and the variety was much more than i was expecting. They have the typical entrees, and a mongolian grill with the raw ingredients you choose, and a sushi counter. Also salads and desserts, including four flavors of premium handscooped ice cream. I liked everything I tried. There were no weird flavors. It was almost deserted on a thursday night at 8pm which is a shame. It cost $9.50 on weeknights, and Fri/Sat/Sun are only $9.99. VERY affordable. I recommend this place to anybody that likes Chinese Buffet. (The only critique I could make would be to have more variety of steamed/healthy cooked vegetables).
Today is my 2nd time in this place. I lived in Cali before. I don't compare NM's restaurant with Ca's restaurant but I compare NM's restaurant with NM's restaurant. Across town I have tried many different buffet restaurants like Lin's, King, HongKong, etc.. and some casino buffet like Route66, Santa Anna, Sandia. So I compare this one with those I've visited. In general I'd say it's a good buffet restaurant in ABQ. I'd rank it's second or third on the list regarding to the cost and variety of the food it servers. I'll not return to Lin or Hong Kong buffet again but I'll with this place. The taste is about right. There're crab legs, clams, crawfish, oysters, Chinese food, the kitchen with a chef will cook your fresh dish with your selected ingredients. usual dessert like fruits, cakes, icecream, etc... We had 3 people and the bill is about $44 before tip.
This is the hidden gem of restaurants in Albuquerque. It serves excellent Japanese dishes, awesome sushi, and a variety of Japanese beers, wine cocktails and of course Sake. The staff is very friendly, courteous, and efficient at serving its customers. I have visited here many times and have yet to receive anything but excellent and timely food and service. Sitting in a strip mall, don't expect to pay the higher prices of a fancy restaurant. The food is value priced, yet excellent quality. The chef is an expert at food and sushi preparation. I would highly recommend Tokyo Kitchen to anyone who loves Japanese food, a clean, quiet, non crowded atmosphere, and an efficient friendly staff. They make you feel at home.
I could eat here everyday! I love sushi, have been to a lot of different sushi houses in Albuquerque and Samurai is the best by far! I moved here from CA and thought I'd never find fresh fish in the desert. The service is great, love sitting at the bar and watching the chefs create art with food. A fun place to bring a date! I haven't tried the grill yet but I will soon. Thanks Samurai, you're great
Went for the first time last night. The food was great and the service even better. Price was average for the area. The food reminded me of the old Gardunos style food before they grew beyond the original 4th street location. It was bright and cheery inside and the staff was so very friendly. This just became my new #1 New Mexican food restaurant to go to.
We have been eating at Mr. Sushi for years and it has always been at the top of our list of restaurants. They always carry and serve the freshest fish i have every tasted. They are locally owned and have really friendly staff. It's a small quaint building. If your a true sushi lover than this place is a must!
When someone told us about this restraint we tried it and always go back. The food is very tasty and the service is good. Only sometimes being a small eatery there is a wait because the place is becoming popular. The rice is not found anywhere else so far in the metro area. Must try for yourself!
This is the best Sushi place ever. During their happy hour, the prices are extremely reasonable. The setting is very clean and nice. The people are very nice, and hospitable. They have a very wide variety in sushi, very fresh and flavorful. This is the only sushi place I'll go to.
Best sushi in town. Tom (owner) and most of the other sushi chefs have great personalities, they add fun to the atmosphere. And if you're not in the mood for sushi, the Teppan tables are pretty good, too.
We love this sushi king location we even drive down from Rio Rancho since we moved from west side Abq 2 years ago. The Sushi chef has been there for years and has always catered to my allergies.
