These people do not respond to Drs orders or patient inquiries. After my Dr. placed an order for my wife's scooter when she had a broken foot, HME failed to respond to the order. I went to their office and asked to see someone to get the apparatus. I was told that I would need an appointment to speak to anyone. Finally, about three (3) days later, someone called. I was told that I would have a scooter for her in a couple of days. I called several times - no scooter. I the meantime, with my wife hurting and unable to move around the house, II purchased a wheel chair. About 10 days later, HME called and said they had a scooter ready to go. AT that point, we were about 1 month into the injury and I had already bought a wheelchair because they would not do anything for us. I will NEVER USE THEM again. If they don't straighten out their business practices to become responsive to their clients needs, they won't be around long. If you need something right away, go somewhere else.
Local branches of Grainger stores do not accept phone calls. They rejected an order of mine without telling me, and have not refunded my money. As if it is a privilege for me to do business with them.
One star really should be minus 5 stars. HME Specialists has all the gear you will ever need but don't employ anyone who gives a damn about their customer's. I had the misfortune of having to deal with them during the last two months of my father's life and they failed miserably in every respect. They missed delivery dates and times, I was treated with disdain when I called, I was "disconnected" while waiting on hold for "someone" to assist me, my calls were transferred in an endless circle of incompetence, invoices were generated for equipment rentals two months after everything had been picked up by their employees, etc. It is now 12 months later and I'm having to deal with a collections agency trying to collect a $10 invoice which was paid in full within 30 days of receipt. I could go on and on and on and on... YES, THEY'VE GOT THE GEAR BUT THEY SUCK IN EVERY OTHER ASPECT.
I am SO impressed by HME Specialists!! I just came back to town and in urgent need of a particular item; I called ten minutes before close on Friday and it was delivered (with a smile) by end of day Monday. In addition, they took the burden of billing my insurance. The services were prompt and their staff stayed in great contact. If only I could give ten stars!!!
Top notch company with people who really care. They are always able to help me with my moms supplies and work with me when I need additional help
Nice to find some people who actually care. Best in the business. The insurance companies made the process impossible but HME went the extra mile for us!
HME Specialists is the worst! Every month it was a different excuse on why my medical supplies couldn't be delivered on time. They give you a lot of "sorry's", but nothing never, ever changes. I filed complaint after complaint every month, to no avail. They are good at passing the blame onto someone else, including their own customers! Nobody would contact me regarding the status of my medical supplies or delivery. I always had do their job, to make sure things got done in a timely manner. If my doctors faxed over prescriptions, HME would say that they never received them. If I needed something to be fixed, they would expect me to take my equipment to them. They are terrible about returning phone calls and providing customer service. They never show up when they are scheduled (always with an excuse). I would spend at the minimum of 5-7 days, out of my already busy schedule, each month having to deal with these incompetent people!
My husband and I would like to Thank You HME for the quick service you gave us. My Father-in-law went to the doctor, had his prescription sent over shortly after that, to HME, in the morning and by that night we had my Father-in-laws oxygen with the concentrateras well as traveling oxygen and carrier that night. I understand that not everyone is going to give you good reviews, but I believe that if you check with your doctor,to see what the hold up is, he maybe can push to get things done for you. I know I have had to call them sometimes.
My insurance required that my prescriptions be handled by HME. My Doctor ordered a portable oxygen concentrator after I had fallen over a oxygen tank cart. HME has refused to honor the prescription and has told me that I will have to use portable oxygen tanks instead. After several phone calls and an expensive examination I haven't received either the tanks or portable oxygen concentrator, the last call I was told that there is no prescription for the tanks, this has been going on for a few months now. Also as for the large tanks they are suppose to deliver every other week, just as often or not they don't show up, and sometimes I am without oxygen to go anywhere and have even had to cancel appointments because of this.
Very, very disappointing. Cannot get my oxygen concentrator delivered. They have come when I haven't been home without calling first, They do not return phone calls. They showed up 2 nights ago and opened the van door and the unit fell out and broke. First, they tried to bring it in anyhow, then said they'd been back yesterday and didn't show. When I called the phone # for the tech after 7 pm, since they were supposed to be here about 6, to see where they were, he said he was off, to call the office. Got a machine, which gave me the option of leaving my name and number for a callback within 15 minutes. Never called. My husband went there today and spoke with a woman in person, He was told my order was cancelled due to non communication with us. The order was supposedly re-instated, and we've been waiting. My husband called about 6. was told there was no order, but she'd contact the warehouse. When he asked to be connected to the warehouse, she said sure, and promptly reconnected him with the business voicemail. We're still waiting.
