The location is a little bit off-putting but as a student, $25 for an hour massage is a GREAT DEAL! I've been here twice and both masseuses have been professional and really took the time to find and work on my trouble areas as well as give me stretches to do at home. They do have licenses hanging on the wall. I have been to other more expensive and popular massage parlors and there is not much difference except with how the waiting area looks. I suppose they skip on decorations to keep their prices affordable. Will continue to be a repeat customer!
Masseuse seemed like somebody's uncke they'd just brought in to cover for the day. Never saw a license for the guy. He spent most of the time complaining about his ex-wife, and the rest copping a feel. Hide your kids, hide your wife.
Massage therapist had a runny nose and a horrible cough! I was surprised to find her blowing her nose during the massage, then continuing to rub My shoulders. I made a comment that I was uncomfortable and it was ignored! After she coughed in her hand and tried to run her hands threw my hair I had to stop my massage! While leaving I explained why I was upset, I was just given a blank stare.... My supposed hour and a half massage lasted fifteen minutes!
I had the worst massage of my life here-and it was with the owner, Barbara! She had just sold almost 2000 groupons & I think she was so preoccupied with that she was completely disassociated from my session. She didn't read a word of my intake form so I verbally pointed out my "avoid" & "caution" areas. She said "Ok, we'll do deep tissue." I said I didn't ask for deep tissue & only wanted moderate pressure. I had to remind her more than once to lighten up the pressure. When she got to my neck she dove in with such intense pressure and disregard for anatomy that it hurt very much. I asked her to pull back but the damage was done. I left feeling bruised and my neck was popping and grinding. After a few days of still being in pain I paid a chiropractor $90 to realign my neck. It felt sprained and sore for two weeks straight. I sent Barbara a letter with my name, date & time of visit and a full explanation of what I went through. I asked her to call me and tell me how she can make this ok. I have not received any response at all. I hope that sharing this will make her respond as well as warn others of the recklessness I feel she worked with.
