What a difference! My oldest son attended Old School of Driving. My youngest just finished up with Chamisa. NO comparison. It is obvious that the teachers at Chamisa are professional educators. Although they don't have regular day hours (they all teach at schools in ABQ), my phone calls have always been returned in a timely manner. They are flexible and understand the craziness of student schedules. Melissa shared with me that they tend to reserve Sundays as their day off for their own families and I respect that! I also learned that if any driving school has a class that is 2 weeks or less, it's illegal. Report it to the state (Old School). She took her time with me on the phone and answered all of my questions about the Real ID changes.
You can find a better company. My son was kicked out with two hours left because his mother complained about the company. Their response was I am teaching you a lesson. Only lesson learned is who takes out their anger on a 15 year old kid. It is pathetic my son had to be punished by this company cause they can not except criticism. I found my son a better company just down the road. This company takes 6 to 7 months to finish. You can do that with the school system for free.
Both my children have attended this driving school and received excellent instruction and are both good, safe drivers! These instructors instill confidence in new drivers and they help students to be organized when working with MVD! I highly recommend them. Teresa A.
I signed up my grandson here for driving class. Just want all parents to be aware that when you pay for 7 hours of driving class this means a 2 hour driving period for two students. One students drive for one hour and then the other so your child or student actually gets only 4 hours of actual driving time. I sent my daughter to McGinnis and should have driven the extra miles to take my grandson there instead.
My son recently attended Chamisa and I was amazed as to how caring, and professional the instructors are. He taught me things I didn't know! I highly recommend this school. The price is great, and includes the MVD tests you'd otherwise have to pay extra.
Interesting how 4 good reviews flooded in after the bad review which was since 2012?! Written by owners, instructors, and family of instructors?-probably. This school is a joke. Shouldn't even be in business.
Great driving school! I learned a lot and my parents are very happy with the skills taught, the price and the flexibility of the classes. The instructors are great and they always emphasize driving safely and not texting and driving.
Great school! Respectful teachers and a great price not sure what that lady is talking about cause we had nothing but the best and most professional experience.
It is our mission to create safe responsible teenage drivers. To the mom that is unhappy, please contact us, (505)459-7412 we make it a priority to go out of our way to provide extra attention to young drivers who are struggling with their driving skills. We even offer private lessons on Sundays. We have a fleet of 6 cars and students are independently behind the wheel during controlled range. Once a students participates in our classroom instruction, for obvious reasons, we cannot give refunds but we take as much time that is needed to work with the student to create a safe driver. We are a small company and in our 3 years of operation at St. Pius we have only ever had to cancel drive time ONCE due to a family emergency (Mother in Hospital). All students were notified as soon as the situation arose and all students were offered alternative appointments. It is our 100% mission to help teenagers and keep them safe behind the wheel. I would like the chance to at least solve the angry mom's problem feel free to call my cell at 505-459-7412. Thank you!
This school was the best! I loved the class and the instructors were funny. They worked with my schedule very well. They made it easy with my busy schedule. I learned a lot of things that my parents didnt even know.
