        DONT GO TO PEP-BOYS. Biggest rip off and worst inspection experience ever: I had just moved to Albany and at the time, my car had 18,000 miles on it. I took my car to get inspected at Pep Boys and they reported that it needed $2,700 worth of work done on it before it passed inspection. They said I needed new U joints and an axel alignment, among other things. Problems that would be noticeable to anyone who had ever driven a car before (you can hear and feel the issues when you drive). I, a young woman, called BS and asked why with so few miles on this car, would I need all those repairs? "You know, those Albany roads can get pretty rough." I had lived in Albany for 2 weeks. I took it to another shop in town and was told that all I needed was a new tail light. They'll try to take horrible advantage. I will never give business to this company again.

        i have never been more disappointed in a service department than i was at pep boys. the service person i dealt with was wonderful and did everything he could to make it ok. his name was mike s. but the actual mechanics were horrid. i had to bring my car back about 4 times. because they apparently couldnt do it right the first time. but the store part was more than helpful.the managers are genuinely concerned with what goes on with their customers. and develop very friendly relationships.so i will still shop there but never have my car worked on there.
