No one returns your calls; and when they do they tell you someone is going to be there and they are not. Very hard to get appointment or gift certificate.

My stylist is great, but I have seen the owner yell and swear at the employees in front of customers. Very uncomfortable to witness.
Whenever I come to Sava hair braiding they are very neat, professional, and patient with particular directions on how I want me bs my daughters hair. Rose help grow my hair back after I had a short hair cut and I cut my hair again and shes helping it grow back again. I would never visit another hair braiding salon because my money is always spent well here!
This business is clean but they do rush jobs and your braids in the middle are to big and loose and they fall out within a few days. If toy bring your own hair they try to keep it and u literally have to get up and grab your hair and off they stand. I recently got my hair done on Sunday June 5th and by the time Sunday June 11th came I had six to seven loose braids and three additional ones fell out. My daughter got her hair done on Friday June 3rd and by the following Wednesday June 8th she was holding braids in her hand. My second oldest hair was done on Tuesday June 7th and u can see the pieces of hair not braided correctly. I recommend never go here and if u decide to make sure u look over your hair throughly before u leave and have someone look at all your braids to make sure they done correctly and not braided loosely. I'm very anak about coverage fresh hair do's and that didn't work. So just find somewhere else to go and ask around. I wasted $390 in total for a crappy job.
Go there with lot of $$$$ in ur pocket. I've been here twice and needed a second visit each time. First time my keratin treatment was not applied correctly so I had to go back and get redone. Thought I would give them another try. Second time, came in with a picture a highlights that I wanted. When I left I couldn't even tell I had highlights unless under the light. So I called and asked if the stylist could fix my hair (maybe adding a few more lighter highlights) after I just spent $160 (plus another $60 on hair products) here. Sure come in..... after 5 more foils and a glaze, I get to the counter for a suprising charge of another $60. Are u kidding me! An uphappy customer and you're going to charge them again. 1 unhappy customer tells a lot of people. Needless to say I will not be back to this salon!
AWESOME! PHENOMENAL! Words can not express my gratitude. I had the worse experience with a different braiding salon, however when I walked into thus establishment not only was it clean, but the women were so professional and welcoming. In addition, my hair is short, so I needed to ensure that someone could grab my hair, the young lady who braided my hair not only did that but exceeded my expectations!! There is no other hair braiding shop that can compete. You want to look fabulous and feel the same? Go to Sava ELEGANT African Hair Braiding....the proof is in the name!!!
Ginger Man is at the top of Greenwich Ave, almost to the intersection of the Old Post Road (Route 1). It is a pub style restaurant, w/ a long bar when you enter, 2 floors (although I've never seen anyone upstairs), a fireplace in the rear of the place which is cozy during winter nights. This is a chain bar - there is one in NYC and Norwalk, CT that I know of. Both are good. There are lots of beers on tap. Many seasonal beer offerings. The menu has the typical chicken wings and burgers (both good) but also some unusual dishes that are worth trying: the salmon BLT is really good, plus the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. There are locals who sit at the bar during the afternoon & you can read all the NYC papers while sipping a beer and munching on wings. Also, you'll see business peeps from around the area here especially for lunch. Also great for kids & family: the staff handles all of these groups well.
*BEWARE!!!* - ABSOLUTEY HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE!We were a wedding party from Hartford CT (wedding in Albany), found this place online. We all showed up early for our 9AM appointment. Well NO ONE showed up until almost 10!!! We actually looked up the owners house and went there which was vacant, for sale. When the owner (Katy) and her partner finally arrived, smelling horrible like cigarettes and alcohol, they never said sorry and were very rude right off the bat. At this point we all knew it wasn't going to be a good experience. Now about their work.... STAY AWAY!! When they finally started (over an hour late) it's like they forgot all the supplies and tools at home that they needed. It was a mess! After makeup and hair, members of our party ACTUALLY WENT BACK TO THE HOTEL TO REDUE IT THEMSELVES. That's how bad this place is. None of the girls were happy. One of the girls had 32 pins in her hair that kept falling out all night and her hair was LITERALLY tied in a knot to hold it up. Its like they knew they were late, so started taking short cuts. Now on to the bride...It took every last bit of energy for us no to scream and yell at the 2 hung-over workers. The bride was outside crying getting fresh air because of how horrible this place was. Again, no apologies or remorse what so ever. We were running so late because of Hairs to You, we just booked out of there around 2 and were so late for pictures, that the bride and groom MISSED half of the reception. Hairs to you and the owner should be avoided at all costs! This is not a good place and honestly we have no idea why there are other positive reviews about this place online. They must be made up by the owners family and friends. They destroyed our hair, butchered our makeup, and wasted THOUSANDS of our dollars throughout the day. Ruined the first half of the wedding by being so late and not prepared! Still to this day no apologies, return calls or reimbursement at all! BEWARE!!!
They did an amazing job! Fast,& on time. Very clean shop!
One of the best hotels in Albany...I would say the BEST hotel. I stayed for several days in the J Suite. It was fantastic. Great room, with a fire place, huge bathroom and the bed and decor was comfortable. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. The location is in the heart of Downtown Albany, making it very convenient. Parking is easy, but you have to get valet.
