Dr. Eric J Freeh arrived from Phoenix in 1996 to join The New Mexico Bone and Joint Institute. He is a Board Certified orthopedic surgeon, with subspecialty fellowship training in trauma and fracture care. He has achieved national recognition as a true expert in the field. As a faculty member of the International Trauma Society, the AO Foundation (Arbeitsgemeinschaft fr Osteosynthesefragen), he is frequently invited to give lectures and instruction on trauma care and surgical technique to orthopedic residents and surgeons. His experience in Phoenix was invaluable as a member of the orthopedic group that took care of the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Coyotes, spring training camp for the Oakland A's and the Seattle Mariners, as well as many local high schools and colleges.Along with his highly regarded fracture care treatment, Dr. Freeh also enjoys many other aspects of orthopedic surgery including sports medicine. He is the only surgeon in this area that has mastered arthroscopy of the shoulder.
