When a car is damaged by an accident or weather, what can be repaired and what must be replaced? Or is it time to buy a new car?
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
Purchased a truck from a dealer and the defrost and blower in floor board weren’t working. As part of the deal they said they would repair it and sent us here. Dropped the truck off on a Friday and they called and said they had to order a part so Monday ir Tuesday it would be in. I called Tuesday and the part came in. I told him I needed the truck Friday. I called Thursday to see the progress. He tried telling me they will try hard to get it done but it’s a big job. A week of having my truck there and a call to the place where we bought the truck complaining they got on it and had it done Friday. When we picked up the truck the seats and floor mats were covered in grease. The mechanics uniform that worked on the truck had never been washed... ever!! He cleaned the floor mats for us and came out with engine cleaner and a red rag to clean the grease off the seats. I stopped him right away and said I’d handle it. The owners son intervened and said yes if she wants to clean them let’s part ways now. They are very unprofessional! We also found out that the part that was installed was used. What auto repair shop installs used parts? Needless to say we are pissed! If it breaks again after our 90 day warranty we will be responsible to have the whole dash tore apart to install another part! Stay away from this place!
I do not usually write a review for a business unless their service is beyond exceptional; as a small business owner I feel that exceptional service should be what customers get.....at the least. Anyway, I have been taking my vehicles to Reeves Auto Service on E. Market St. Akron for more than a decade. John is the most honest technician that I have ever done business with. John is excellent at diagnosing mechanical problems/issues and does not try to sell services that you did not bring your auto in for. I have had John do things from major engine repairs to tune-ups on a variety of vehicles i.e. Chevy Astro Van, Toyota Tundra 4x4, Toyota Camry, Mercury Cougar, Toyota 4Runner's. I would recommend John to anyone in my family and any of my friends. When it comes to an auto mechanic service shop it is extremely difficult to find one that you can trust the people that work there, to do precisely what you brought your car/truck in for and not "create" other "issues". It is a common phrase to hear people say that "you get what you pay for" well, I think that at Reeves Auto Service in Akron......you get MORE than what you pay for; because now a day's it seems like you are lucky to have a business that has reasonable/decent service much less beyond exceptional service. If you are looking for a service technician, go here and you will not be disappointed. Oh, and Eddie is an awesome technician too!!

My wife and I took our older model car in for a simple repair on Friday Sept. 22, 2017 at 8 am. By 3 pm, after hearing nothing from them, I called to check on the progress. They at first had no idea what I was talking about, and then vaguely explained options. I told them to proceed, and was promised a call the next day. The next day at noon, I called and they couldn't find the paperwork, and again acted as though I had called the wrong shop. Finally I was told it was finished and it would cost on $70 (if I paid cash). At 2 o'clock I went in and AGAIN they didn't know what I was talking about...I told them what car it was, papers were shuffled on the desk, and finally he asks "It's the blue on, right?" No it' the black one I answered. "Oh blue or black, what's the difference" was his answer. THEN I was FINALLY informed that it hadn't even been worked on yet because he "didn't have the part". I told him that I had called 2 hours earlier and was told it was finished. He asked. "how can it be...I don't have the part!". PLEASE whoever may read this, stay away. It is a filthy rat hole, and stinks of cigarettes. One look at the office, and you should not to entrust them with your car. I my friends and family have been going to Longs Auto for many years. They are very HONEST and helpful. We have had bad experiences with other garages before finding Longs. They are the only one that I trust with our cars and my elderly father. They do a great job their prices are good and they are HONEST this is hard to find. I would highly recommend them!
I bought my first car through ABC Motor Credit who financed me with DBS Financial, and received a “hose job”. Unbeknownst to me, the car had a book value of $3,000 but was sold to me for $8,445. I was forced to take a 12-month Warranty that cost an additional $1,600, which made my debt over $10,000 at 24% interest!!I was told I had liability insurance at the time of purchase but was required to obtain additional coverage on my own. I could not get coverage because the car was only worth $3,000 and the “total of payments” was over $14,000!A careful reading of the contract indicated that the information on the vehicles “sticker” superceded the contract I signed. Since the sticker was removed and I never saw it, I am pursuing this matter on the basis of fraud.Looking for other people with similar experiences with ABC Motor Credit and DBS Financial. Had to post because I was flabbergasted by what I saw in the other reviews. These people have to be talking about a different place. Here are some things Fred's has done for me over the years:-took my clunker in for a new serpentine. Fred shopped around for bargain prices and called me before he installed--concerned I would pay too much to fix a beater.- was having battery issues. Fred looked at and fixed for no charge.-picked me up and driven me home - they accidentally misdiagnosed a wheel bearing issue. Fixed one wheel free of charge for the mistake.-have always been willing to "hold" checks so you're sure you can pay.Yes, it is a small family business, but these people are the nicest, most fair, honest I have ever dealt with. Don't listen to the haters, Fred's is wonderful.
