I was warned and didn't listen. When I questioned Dr. Vaughters (DV) concerning treatments and meds side effects he became violent and abusive. DV would be good if you're on free medical and not interested in your treatment but just want meds. DV told me he had better things to do than answer my questions and I should find another doctor. I'll be taking his advise.
Lousy physician. Terrible wait times. Used to travel with my job much. Had to call for a script that had run out. I told them I would not be back in town Friday until they had closed and my brother would stop by to pick up the script since they would not call it in to a pharmacy (like what doctor REFUSES to do that??). They waited until he got there to tell him that they would not do that. Wouldn't tell me on the phone but wasted the trip for my brother. The entire office staff is unprofessional, incompetent and rude. Oh, and don't ask this doctor a question because he will explode.
I went in the evening and the receptionist was very nice. Nurse, doctor and assistant were very cordial and professional. Their hours and location are great and I will be going back there. I’ve found everyone very helpful!
My visit was relating to chest pains. The doctor on staff was very patient in listening to my problems. He concluded that my issues were relating to stress, resulting in anxiety attacks. I actually had a breakdown in the office during the visit and the doctor was so kind to give me a hug. He was very supportive, patient and kind. I have taken his advice on how to relieve the many stressors in my life and actually feel much better. I am so grateful for the visit and the time that he took with me.
Dr. Youmans and his staff are the best you will find in the CSRA! They are all very knowledgable and professional, spending time with my family to get our issues taken care of, every time we have an appointment. They get you in and out as quickly as possible and
I see Stacey, NP and she is wonderful! Very knowledgeable and intuitive. She understands my rare condition and works well with my out of town gastroenterologist. She thinks outside the box and is very intelligent. However, my visit for hospital follow--up with the PA was not good at all. I won't go into detail but he must have googled it all. But I do enjoy Stacey very much! Sometime staff can be a bit rude at first, but once they see you enough, they are friendly. I can understand that they deal with calls, appointments, facing, requesting medical info, and other scheduling and referrals as well and there seems to not be enough help at times. Overall, I like this office.
Ayaz is not one of the best doctors I've gone to. His examination lasted about 10 minutes and amounted to virtually nothing. He was unable to diagnose my issue, which has been going on for almost a year, perhaps a little more in depth analysis could have been a good help to him. I'll be seeking a second opinion since Ayaz was unable (or unwilling) to figure out my issue. Very poor experience.
Let me start off by saying that I was a patient there for quite some time, and though I had issues with the service, which I will explain in detail later, I enjoyed working with my doctor Jordan very much. Unfortunately, she moved with her husband, and I was left in the hands of the rest of the staff, which are awful. First, you can never get anyone on the phone. It was not uncommon for me to have to call the office five or six times throughout the day to get ahold of someone, while leaving messages. I was never called back unless the issue at hand directly affected their bottom line, for example changing an appointment or insurance providers. Secondly, wait times. I would regularly show up early for an appointment, be kept waiting past my appointment time, sometimes up to half an hour or more, and then be rushed through the appointment. I once was there for 3 hours in the middle of a workday for a regular checkup because I was kept waiting and had several issues to deal with, and then had to wait on prescriptions that should have already been dealt with. Which brings me to prescriptions. If you are on medication that has even the slightest potential for abuse ,even if they are medications for which you have a legitimate medical need, and that you have been on the marjority of your life, you will have to sign several forms, and they will subject you to random drug testing, not only for illegal substances, BUT TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE TAKING YOUR MEDICATION REGULARLY. A negative test result on these random drug tests means that they will not refill your prescription and will in fact discontinue the doctor patient relationship if for instance say you misplaced your bottle of medication. This testing goes on even after you've been a patien for years and passed all previous tests. I can only be under the impression that this is because they want to bill people for it, or they don't trust their patients. If they can't operate under mutual trust then they are in the wrong profession. Either way it's insulting. They make you feel like a criminal just for having a medical condition that requires pharmaceutical treatment to feel and function like a normal human being. When I discontinued my relationship with them it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Interactions with them left the impression that they were uncaring, unsympathetic, aloof, and indifferent to their patients, and only motivated by profit and their bottom line. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY!!! You deserve a better experience than the one this practice offers.
I've been a patient of Dr Youmans for some time. He is easy to talk to and very knowledgeable.
He is the best Gastroenterologist in the CSRA. The staff is courteous and his nurse is good to follow up regarding any questions.

Check for Board Certification
Your physician should be certified through the American Board of Medical Specialties. Doctors must earn a medical degree from a qualified school, complete three to seven years of residency training, be licensed by a state medical board and pass one or more ABMS exams to be certified.

Surgeons should be willing to go over the details of your procedure and answer any questions that you may have. They must take the time to discuss and address your worries.
If you're going in for surgery, you want someone that knows what they're doing and has a high success rate. Ask how often the surgeon performs this surgery and try to find one that regularly does it. This will give you peace of mind that you're in capable hands.
