I found this place to have little to no gun smithing skills. Only current knowledge of current products. Named 3 makers that all 3 employees didnt recognize. It took 1 hour to speak with the employees because all 3 were helping 1 blonde ladie customer and then acted as if i were a bother. They weren't even able to recognize the winchester 94 i brought in. Thank goodness I didnt leave it for repair.
These guys are great. I've bought 2 guns and several accessories from them. The staff is friendly and treats me like a local should. I don't spend much time in there but each time they have recognized me and remembered my name. They did make a mistake with an order which I won't bore you with the details of. But their response and commitment to get it fixed and make it right for the customer was over and above my expectations. That's what I expect from a local store.
Had enjoyed good gunsmithing work done out of this shop on two of my pistols, so I dropped a rifle off there this past weekend expecting the same. Followed up on it today and found it still sitting on the shelf, and was told from now on all gunsmithing would be done at their "country club" operation in Powder Springs. Apparently they can't be bothered to transfer the weapons between the shops as they had always formerly done. Unfortunately no one bothered to inform me of this when I was in the shop this past Saturday, and the rifle would have sat there till hell froze over if I had not followed up on it. Considering the pitiful store inventory and now the refusal to accept gunsmithing work, I suggest you folks cut your losses and close the shop now. I have been a BIG supporter of this shop posting great reviews of you all over the internet. After the way things were handled today, I doubt I will EVER set foot in your shop again...
Between my husband and myself we have purchased at least 4 guns from Lakeside. We have received nothing but great customer service from them. We have worked with Kristina, and Casey and have always been very happy. For anyone upset with the wait for the background check, get your self a Concealed Carry Permit!!! I have one and when I went in the DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING (2013) I didn't have to wait!! Easy enough. I was in and out with in 30 or so minutes. I would recommend Lakeside to anyone, and will continue to go there for ALL of our gun needs. Great store, great service!!!!!
This is a very friendly gun store. I was greeted when I walked in the door until I left. Being a woman shooter I felt very at home & not intimidated like most gun sotres. They help me all the way thru my purchase & went over every part of the firearm with me. They took the time do this even with a busy store. I would highly recommend them for future firearms purhcases.
Ordered 500 Rounds of 5.56 thinking they would be in before Valentines day...everyone knows us married folks are broke right after valentines day. Sent Lakeside guns a Facebook message and asked them to hold the ammo for me for a WEEK.....went to pick them up today and there they were. No problem, one of the main reasons to buy local. they are on the hunt for me another firearm that I have been looking for..no doubt they will find it for me and when they do im going back. Go in and ask for Paul....Great guy and very sharp.
THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE RIGHT...I'm shocked and dissapointed. I just left the store an hour ago and will never return. I read all the reviews, positive and negative before going there to explore a rifle and a pistol purchase. Despite the significant number of negtive reviews I decided to give Lakeside Guns a try this time since they are close to home. When I entered the store there were 2 customers and 3 visible employees behind the counter. Two employees were helping one customer, and the other employee was just standing there looking dissinterested. The second customer was standing at the counter with a look on his face like "is anyone going to help me". I also approached the counter and stood there several minutes. The customer who was actually being helped left wihtout buying anything, but noone then acknowedged in any way either me or the other customer who was there before me. Keep in mind we were within 6 to 8 feet of all 3 employees so it isn't like they didn't see us. I was surprised, and while trying to figure out if I should say something, another customer walked in. The younger of the three employees looked up at him (as he did me when I walked in, though he didn't acknowledge me at all) and apparenlty recognized him (I guess), so he walked straight past me and the other customer and said "can I help you". That customer asked a question, then left, and the employee walked back past me and the other customer and started talking to another employeed (it's a tiny store, all of this happend within 12 ft.). I waited 30 seconds or so, then politely, almost in a joking tone to be nice said "I could use some help" . The employee who had bypassed us just looked up at me with his mouth hanging open and said nothing but was staring at me like I thought he was going to grab a gun and shoot me. I smiled and repeated myself with him looking straight into my eyes and he again just looked at me like "how dare you interupt my day". Apparently the shock on my face was noticed by another employee (bigger and more muscular guy, very fit, few years older, wearing a pistol on his left hip) who then said "What can I do for you". The angry stare of the younger guy was so appalling that I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. I responded to the nicer guy who had asked me what he could do for me by saying: "Nothing now, and I will never be back". I left that place as fast as I could. I have never written a review on any business, but this experience was so bad that I came home, opened a bogus email account so I didn't have to use my personal email account to complain about guys with guns and spent time to let others know that apparently there is at least one employee a Lakeside Guns that needs to be trained (a lot) or fired. This could explain why there are several positive reviews, and several negative reviews. The people writing negative reviews probably met the same guy I did. I won't chance it again however, and will continue to patronize the reliable stores I have previoulsy dealt with even if I have to drive farther to do so. Somethings you just don't need to experience twice...I'll never go back.
Stay away from this business. There are much better gun shops out there that will value their paying customers. I drove out of my way to purchase some Fiber Optic Tritium sights and they "said" they ordered them and it would be 7-10 business days. I gave them my phone number and it's now been over 3 weeks. I was tempted to call but decided against it because I figured that I shouldn't have to do that. I work in the customer service industry and what they did would be the equivelant of someone scheduling a service call and me just not show up. That would certainly be unprofessional and that's how I view their conduct. I guess I should have been forwarned reading the other reviews here on this site. I will not make that mistake again. Since taking my business elsewhere I have gotten everything I needed in a timely fashion and even purchased my second pistol in a month.
