I have nothing but great things to say about Lakeside Guns; its staff, owners, customer service, and merchandise are all top-notch. Being very "green" regarding firearms, and nervous about purchasing my first one, I made Lakeside Guns my first stop. After hearing and reading a lot of positive input about them, I was confident that they would be a good choice for me – and I was not disappointed at ALL. Upon walking in, I was promptly and WARMLY greeted by the staff, and offered help with whatever I needed; from then on, I have been treated with nothing but kindness, professionalism, honestly, and patience by everyone there, and received only the soundest of advice and instruction. All that, and they don’t even make a commission! Even their CUSTOMERS are great, which makes for an even more enjoyable atmosphere in which to shop, and/or simply visit. I can say with total certainty that Lakeside Guns’ #1 goal is not just customer satisfaction, but customer HAPPINESS. After purchasing a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard from them, and then USING it in a training class, I found that, although its size and weight were perfect for me, the recoil was too difficult to manage. So, here I was with a firearm -- now USED -- that I wasn’t going to be able to use; I was beside myself. But, these wonderful folks at Lakeside Guns willingly took great pains and made significant sacrifices to resolve the issue for me, and as quickly as possible. I can almost guarantee that no other gun shop, anywhere, would have accommodated me (or anyone else for that matter) the way that Lakeside Guns did. They’re my “go-to” firearm experts, retailers, and buddies.
I just moved back to Acworth. On my first visit the store I was in need of some target practice ammo and an extra mag for my S&W M&P .45. I was impressed to see how much stuff they have crammed into a small retail space. They had ammo in stock at a reasonable price and had an extended 15 round S&W mag. I received great service and purchased the ammo and mag. The salesman gave me 10% off for being a Marine. The next day before my friend and I went shooting; we both purchased handguns. He bought a Taurus Judge and me a Glock 27. Again I got Military discount on the Glock which came with tru-glo night sights that can run an extra $80. After shooting my friend dropped off his M&P 15 to have a new collapsible stock put on. They said it would be ready the next day. When my friend went to pick it up it was not ready and he received no call that the smith had failed to show up for work. The salesman said I could pick up my friends rifle when it was ready. I went in and they refused to give it to me even with the work ticket. My friend had to go there again the next day. I have returned since then and purchase other accessories. Overall I have had a good shopping experience with Lakeside Guns. Like any other retail store they will have to work better to communicate better between employees on different shifts and the management to hold employees accountable to avoid a backlash with the customers. I believe the store will succeed and will probably need to consume another retail space to expand its current inventory.
For the record I am not affiliated with Lakeside in any business sense.. I for one think Lakeside Guns is top notch.. I have been shopping there since they opened and have never been disappointed with service and especially not from their staff and management.. In response to some of the panty waist reviews given.. Have you never been to any type of gunstore? You aren't exactly going in to the local Walmart to purchase a princess dress for your 4 yr old daughter so don't expect anyone to coddle you into a purchase of a firearm at any store you go to.. I personally would never go into any gunstore in which the employees weren't heavily opinionated.. If your retail sensitivity is to the point that you won't buy a weapon to protect your family and then cower behind a keyboard to express your opinions instead of directly to the employee or management then I think that speaks volumes to your character.. Just my .02..
I really don't understand why anyone would say anything negative about Lakeside. I started stopping in this store at least once a week before they even opened. They have always been nice, helpful, and courteous. If you went in looking for something in particular, and they don't have it, they will order it for you right away. Any accessory I have ever purchased, they will install it for you, whether its AR accessories or Glock accessories. I have been a member of the local community for almost 40 years, and out of all the local gun shops, I prefer to give them my business. They will take care of you, and if you have any questions, they will answer them.....And there prices are good too.
I have purchased many handguns and rifles over the years from various gun shops around the Metro-Atlanta area and I can say without a doubt that at Lakeside Guns, the staff is extremely knowledgable and accommodating of all. I love the fact that it is locally owned and operated. The owner and staff have gone out of their way to make sure that I am satisfied with my purchases and I have a lot of friends who hunt or have needed ammo or guns and I've referred each of them to Lakeside Guns and every one of them have been pleased. If you're looking for any gun/rifle/accessory/ammo, I can say unequivocally that Lakeside Guns will meet your needs! I will never shop anywhere else!
The place is nicely set up. The personnel are friendly and knowledgeable. My first visit was by myself and they were very helpful. The second visit was with my wife and the young lady that worked with her was very helpful. My third visit was to purchase a Glock and Casey was in the process of making fun of a customer who had just left the store. It was so unprofessional that I have decided to wait to purchase until he no longer is employed there. It is a shame that in a small business would allow such immature and unprofessional person work for them and thus lose valuable sales. Without Casey, I would rate a 5 star. With Casey a 1 star.
Between my husband and myself we have purchased at least 4 guns from Lakeside. We have received nothing but great customer service from them. We have worked with Kristina, and Casey and have always been very happy. For anyone upset with the wait for the background check, get your self a Concealed Carry Permit!!! I have one and when I went in the DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING (2013) I didn't have to wait!! Easy enough. I was in and out with in 30 or so minutes. I would recommend Lakeside to anyone, and will continue to go there for ALL of our gun needs. Great store, great service!!!!!
Very impressive gun store and staff. I’ve had several transactions including walk-in retail, trade-in, special order, and LE FFL transfer. I have dealt directly with Kristina, Casey, and Andra. In the store, they are courteous and engaging. One of my special orders required a follow-up phone call and a couple of emails. They were done promptly and reliably. And, upon the arrival of my special ordered items, I was notified immediately! I do plan on doing business there in the future. Please note … I have no affiliation with Lakeside Guns, either personal or profession.
Ordered 500 Rounds of 5.56 thinking they would be in before Valentines day...everyone knows us married folks are broke right after valentines day. Sent Lakeside guns a Facebook message and asked them to hold the ammo for me for a WEEK.....went to pick them up today and there they were. No problem, one of the main reasons to buy local. they are on the hunt for me another firearm that I have been looking for..no doubt they will find it for me and when they do im going back. Go in and ask for Paul....Great guy and very sharp. Thanks!
Finally a place near by that has a great selection of guns and most of which seemed to be placed well under MSRP from what i could tell. Unlike some of the bigger shops around, i was immediately greeted at the front door and I didnt have to wait around for someone to grab a gun for me to look at. I ended up buying one of their Head Down AR-15's from them which is also a local company. I'm all about supporting our local economy. Awesome experience, i plan on making them my exclusive gun shop.
