I recently revisited what I call my real home and stopped by the place I enjoyed most for my meals when I lived in hayward, and Union City. I had stopped at a couple of other places and they had changed or weren't even there anymore. I was so pleased to find out that after 14 years of being out of the state and living in Arizona the food was still the same , delicious as always. My grandsons also enjoyed the food. Please don't ever change. We don't have any good mexican restaurants near where I live in northeast Arizona. If you ever want to expand the business you would make a fortune here. I plan to visit at least twice a year and you can be sure I will stop by your place several times while I'm there. The one thing I miss most about the Bay Area is the good food. Thanks for helping make my visit very enjoyable. Wanda
This place is a little bit out of the way so make sure you get exact directions before you leave. It's totally worth it. You will crave it and come back for more. The staff here is friendly. It's definitely a low key place. This is a lunch place or dinner with close friends but I repeat this place is NOT fancy. It's clean but don't take a date here. That's probably what's keeping the prices down so don't complain that it's not redecorated unless you want to ruin the place. Las Canastas is clean and VERY inexpensive. They have a variety of choices not just tacos and burritos. They have a lot of seafood dishes on their extensive menu. This is REAL Mexican food. I would know!
This place is amazing. All the food is authentic. They take your orders promply. There can be lines, but only because it's a drive through and the place is popular, but they go as fast as humanly possible. You can order food at the front if you'd rather park and walk up. They do take credit cards. The charge is $1 so if you want to avoid that bring cash. What I love the most about this place is that 1 taco can fill you up. They make them avocado (mashed like guacamole) that is FRESH. They don't put lime in the guac like a lot of cheapo restaurants do to make it last more than a day. That is how you know if it's a decent place btw. Go there once and you will be hooked!
The pastor Super Burito was the best Tasting elpastor super Burito I've tasted Since I moved from the mission district in SF 20 years ago Go ! The Tacaria was clean well lighted and had a nice dinning area where if you chose you could eat your food they also had a very well stocked chips and salsa bar that could please anyone's taste profile they also had a wide variety of menu offering of meats and main dishes such as soft and hard tacos to Chile reinos and super Burito s and seafood dishes everything I saw looked freshly made and ready to eat ! I look forward to going back and trying some thing new !SFJ
Everytime I go there whether it's afternoon or evening I always see someone cleaning. Not just the tables, but periodically sweeping and mopping. This place is really clean. They recycle your bottles and there's a foosball table and a pool table. The staff is humble and there's a friendly vibe among the patrons as well because many of them are regulars. This is a low key place. The prices are moderate. I gave it 4 not 5 because some of the basic items are a bit overpriced than if you went across the street but not by much. The atmosphere is definitely more inviting there than across the street.
My friend and I came to this restaurant based on previous reviews. We have lots of Mexicans and have rather high standards for Mexican food. Salsas were amazing. I got fajitas and meat were actually tender for once which is something you don't usually get at Mexican restaurants. Overall, it was the best Mexican I have ever had including very reputable places like red iguana in salt lake city. I'm just sad that this place is 3000 miles away from home. But I'm definitely coming back to this place. :)
I have to admit when I first tried Taco e Lingua I did not know what I was eating. That was over 20 years ago and I'm still eating it at El Taquito. I have tried other places but NOTHING compares to the way they make it. There is definitely a secret to having the meat melt in your mouth followed by the succulent flavor of cilantro...You will never be disappointed with their tongue! Try It! You'll Love It!
Whatever you order put the orange sauce on it. This place is clean and plenty of parking. I gave it 4 out of 5 because there's a ton of traffic on Mission St. especially since there's construction going on (exteneded period of time). I also wish they would NOT put beans in their tacos. You put beans in burritos. I always pick them out cos it's easier than having to explain how it's done.
I've been eating at Senaida's since I was kid... That's about 30+ years. I love their burritos and nachos. I don't care for the watery guacamole. They aren't very friendly but it must run in the family. I don't care cause I come for the food not the smiles
I was referred by a man that I met at church. He said the food here was good and BOY was he right. Loved the enchiladas, and the price was great! Only problem, the restaurant is very small.
