I hate to write about anything, but I saw 2008 rev. W/1star. I live on the far e.side Tucson where the old MeiHon used to be. I was crushed when it closed a few yrs. ago, as I didn't know their original location was on Irvington. Found Mei Hon two days ago accident. I'm home!! I got there @8:55pm on a MONDAY! They close@9:00pm, I'm thinking end of night I was sure I was getting left-overs. No way! My food was so hot, I couldn't hold the bag. O M G, my House Lomein, House Fried Rice, Egg Flower Soup, and Won Ton Soup were SLAMMIN! Just completely off the hook. I mean the food actually was actually flavorful, and I had so much meat in my dishes, almost every if not every bite had meat and they weren't chincy with the shrimp. Everything was authentic with the right and appropriate ingredients for Chinese. They weren't being lazy and use less or even leave out ingredients, trying to pass it off as Chinese when its actually mixed up and made with Thai or whatever ingredients like some places. I have been to nine Chinese rest. In my area alone From Broadway/C.Seco to Harrison to Houghton to Golf Links to Craycroft in my area. Th. at don't include Speedway-UA or N.West areas. All those restaurants need to come here so they understand what a great restaurant is=Awesome food, made fresh and hot, with the right ingredients, with super huge portions, killer prices for what you get, and last that A+ make you feel like family service. They were super nice and friendly. I finally found my home. Their is one other Chinese rest., on 22nd/Kolb that's ok, but they ain't nothing like Mei Hon so they ain't getting my biz except if emergency in case Mei Hon isn't open or something. Otherwise I'll be back I don't care how far I drive. I ate those portions for two more days w/out griping a bit. This is why I don't write nothing-it takes to dog gone long. But I had to set the truth straight so folks don't miss out on this place cause of that review.
Do you ever read so many mixed reviews and are not sure who is right? Well we gave this restarant a try , we were NOT dissappointed. We tried the buffet and it was amazing! I was expecting same brown sauce spread out over several entrees. Each dish has a unique flavor. The buffet items are fresh, the veggies are not "mushy",the crab puffs are a slice of heaven, the sesame chicken is fresh chicken NOT chicken parts, just to name a few things. We have always had good service. Plates removed promptly, wait staff is courteous and friendly. The owners always make an effort to say hi and ask how things are going. We almost did not want to write a review because then we have to share the buffet and the crab puffs. As far as the Negative reviews I am at a loss. We look forward to going to China view on our date night. The decor is very tasteful by the way and CLEAN. Give it a try! you will love it!!
I lived in this area six yrs. ago. My wife and I dined here at this little restraunt when in the mood for Chinese food. The food was and still is very good. Service is excellent, they are personal and remember you. Theres nothing fancy about the place. A lot of local neighborhood folks come here so the atmosphere is laid back, casual and welcoming. Tonight I called them at 9:25pm. Not only did they answer the phone and take my order, but they stayed open and waited for me. Unbeknownst to me they close at 9:30pm. My meal was hot and fresh. Even if you rate food 3.5-4.00 stars, service is definitely 5.00 stars. Try and find that kind of service anywhere. Yeah, its definitely good to be back.
China View has been a favorite getaway for me in the Vail area. This family-run restaurant is welcoming, friendly and the food is very good. I enjoy going to the restaurant and truly relaxing - and catching up with the family. The buffet nights are great - a great value and great food. The food portions are generous and there is a very large variety of dishes. When I don't know what I want to eat, they freely make recommendations and I've enjoyed each recommendation. Be sure to visit during the Christmas holidays - their decorations are fantastic! Don't pay attention to the 'other' reviews. Give China View a try - I'm going tonight!
I have been to China View Bistro several times, and wanted to let others know what a great place it is to eat. Upon reading the reviews from others though, I find myself a little confused. While we have all had 'one of those moments' at a restaurant, I have to say I have had nothing but very good experiences when I have been there. The food is great, the prices are even better, and the Tuesday/Thursday night buffets are awesome. The service is excellent though sometimes they seem short handed, but even when they are, they have been very professional and helpful. I recommend China Bistro to my friends and to anyone reading this review!
I just moved back to this side of town and had a serious craving for Chow Main (Beef). I placed my order to go, and it wasn't even five minutes and they handed me my food. Already I'm disappointed because my food couldn't possibly be freshly prepared when I'm barely putting my wallet in my back pocket. The food was very good, but I could not believe how small ok chincy the portion was for $7.55 incl., tax. I do believe that you get what you pay for. I'm just not going to believe that when it comes to my food. I'll pass next time unfortunately.
When we first moved in the neighborhood, about three yrs ago, we were looking for a good place to eat oriental food. We were tired of Panda Express! I found them on the YP. I don't go anywhere else. This place gives good size portions. The food always tastes fresh and not greasy. My husband actually agrees with me. I usually order the sesame chicken or the beef and broccoli. Aaawsome!! Be hungry when you arrive, cuz you won't be when you leave!!
Perhaps other reviewer mixed up this place with the Buffet across GolfLinks (Gourmet of Tucson, which used to be next to Petsmart on Bway). Golden China isn't a buffet to my knowledge, I've gone for lunch specials and to take out. Golden China has tasty entrees, attentive servers and I've never had any issues with trying to substitute when ordering. I've even asked for them to steam not fry their dumplings (pot stickers).
We have eaten here several times over the past 2 years. We have always found the food to be fresh, as very satisfying. We have even used one of their rooms for a business event and they accommodated us very graciously in their service to us and the usage of the TV/ DVD system. We highly recommend it to everyone who want delicious fresh sushi, salad bar, fresh stir fry to your desires and classical Chinese foods as well.
This place has fast, steaming hot food brought to your table within 10 minutes of placing your order...this is the only Chinese food restaurant that has food that tastes and looks like it should. Mostly all other so called Chinese food places all the food tastes the same regardless what you order. I'm very satisfied with the service and food quality ..I will be a returning customer...
