Our latest dining experience could be classified as excellent from start to finish. We had mojitos and sangria ($2.50 during happy hour) at the bar, and ordered a tostada de ceviche. The mojitos were excellent, the sangria fresh and fruity, and the ceviche was tasty and tangy, just the right starter for the evening. Our bartender was... attentive and provided great service even though there wasn't a single empty seat at the bar. An auspicious start to what turned out to be a wonderful culinary journey. We were seated promptly when our party members arrived and started our meal with one of the entrees. The pork ribs, were abundant (it looked like an entire rack of ribs), flavorful, tender, meaty, and finger licking good . We polished it off with gusto, looking forward to what lay ahead. Our entrees soon arrived looking very artful in their presentation with mounds of rice shaped like pyramids. The Jalapeno Glazed Salmon over White rice was the best dish of the night - the seasoning and the marriage of flavors are brilliant, winning combination. The spinach and sweet potato enchelada was also very good. The desserts were also a revelation - the flan (I ordered it with the sauce on the side) , light and airy and so-so good. The meal came out to about $35 per couple before tip. Considering we all had cocktails and 3 courses (shared the appetizers and desserts) this was an excellent value for the quality of the food we sampled. The food IS worth what you pay. And I could not ask for better service of waitstaff that obviously take pride in their restaurant. People know good food, and if the crowd tonight was anything to go by (the entire restaurant was packed to the hilt on a Friday night), they know they will find it at Cielo Mexican Bistro. I certainly did.

This our favorite restuarant - if you haven't eaten here - you haven't had the best Mexican food in Hosuton! The new restuarant locatio on Clay Road is spacious and tastefully decorated and the food is the same quality as the old place. This restaurant bacomes a favorite of anyone we share it …
This location has expanded so there's plenty of room. The food is great (my teenagers favorite), their service is always superb and you can't beat the prices. Keep your eyes open for specials.
We went on a Saturday night. We found it to be a quiet, relaxing restaurant with good food and an abundant wait staff. The prices were reasonable and the portions were more than adequate. There were plenty of items to choose from on the menu with quite a variety. We enjoyed or dinner.
Their tamales are surprisingly good! delicious & flavorful. They are huge!! I wish they had a better website....& delivery perhaps. There about 5 neighborhoods that would love to get your great food special delivery.. Great place!
I ordered a "sarsuela de marisco" and it was just water with seafood on it. Not even close to what I ordered it. I found a bug in my food and I told the waitress. She just apologies and brought me again the same plate. I desired not to eat it and they still charged me full price. Not g…
This is a truly fine restaurant. The service is excellent, the decor is fabulous, the prices are reasonable and best of all the food is true New Mexico food at its very best. We absolutely love this place. The enchiladas are stacked rather than rolled, in true New Mexico style. The peppers used in the red and green chili sauces are New Mexico raised. I grew up in New Mexico and this food is in my blood. My wife on the other hand is from New England. She had her first exposure to this food in Albuquerque when she attended the University of New Mexico. She's now as ardent a fan as I am and has become a pretty good cook of New Mexico food in her own right. She too is crazy about Santa Fe flats. We don't drink but many of the restaurants other customers each time we visit are enjoying the house margaritas served in large beer mugs. When the weather is decent, the kids play outside in a sandbox while we dine in an adjacent covered ramada. Live music is provided outside several times a week. We've been coming here now for over three years and the same waitstaff has been here the whole time. The proprietors, whose roots are in New Mexico, have done a fabulous job in bringing New Mexico's finest food to Houston.
I don't know where to start. This place, all three locations, has the greatest food. As in I have the phone numbers on speed dial and I also carry their to-go menus in my car good. I absolutely love the Guadalajara sampler. The chicken enchiladas are to die for. The chips n salsa is spectacular!! Everything tastes fresh and well seasoned. Even the ribs and one might ask why you have ribs at a Mexican restaurant. Well because you can and because it's hard to pass up. I have yet to try anything that I didn't like. Even my dad loved the place and he's very very picky. No other place could touch the beloved Mexicantessen, which use to be located in the studewood area. But I think he has crossed over. This location is my favorite, the other is located in near The Woodlands. Plus, they have great service. That makes a BIG difference. The staff seems to be trained very well and most importantly, they keep the place clean. I also like that there's always running hot water in the restrooms. For some reason you don't always get that with other like restaurants. But check it out. You won't be sorry.
I've been eating here for about 20 years now. I once managed the Superior Waterbeds (early 90's) that was about a block away on I-45. That's when I got adicted. Their salsa is unique and the best I've ever had by far. It's got bite, not the mild tomato based bland sauce of so many copycat Tex-Mex places. I have a favorite here that is also not just the same ol' stuff you always see on the menu everywhere. Try the beef tip burrito dinner. It's to die for, expecially drenched in their salsa. The rice and refried beans served with it are nothing special. If they ever add barracho bean soup or some spicy black beans with pico or something as special as the main entree and salsa this will be the best meal on the planet! The location is nothing to brag about. It's not fancy or elegant. It's way out of my way to go there and the atmosphere is somewhere just above a fast food joint. But don't let that keep you from trying this incredible dining experience. It is truely something special in a world of ordinary.
Las Ventanas restaurant and cantina's serves as a portal for Mexico's culinary world and demonstrates rightly why it is one of the world's great cuisines. The proprietor, Alejandro Sneider, family has been serving authentic Mexican food in Houston for more than 35 years. Las Ventanas’ interior radiates sun-baked colors, the ambience is cozy and friendly, and the decor reflects Mexico’s colorful and vibrant culture. The tree- covered and gorgeously landscape patio is the perfect place to unwind. Executive chef Jose Hernandez creates the bold flavors using fresh ingredients that distinguish Mexican cuisine. Brilliant sauces showcase the remarkably diverse flavors gracing the authentic, traditional dishes. Indulge your palate with delicious recipes while sipping on an ice-cold margarita. Las Ventanas is also a family haven - you and your children will be enchanted by the patio and the no-mess kid zone.
Are you missing all the Authentic Salvadorean Food and Pastries?, well do not wait any longer, visit this restaurant and you will really feel that you just came back from a trip to El Salvador because their pupusas, tamales de puerco o de gallina as well as the tamales de elote are delicious, Try de Guanaco plate: i Pupusa, Frijoles and Arroz with a side of fresh cream!!!! Horchata, fresco de ensalada, tamarindo or Kola Chanpagne.... Plus they make their own pastries daily, quesadillas de queso, empanaditas de pina and a lot more. The prices are great and also sell embutidos like curtidosm jocotes, semillas de paterna, mangos etc. Try it out. They are also very fast when iy comes to service. They are very friendly and clean as well. Morena Li Siu
I am distraught. I have been to this place at least 3 other times before yesterday and it was very good. I even had a staff party there and the food was delicious. Yesterday however, my friend and I went there for a late lunch @ 2:30pm. All I can say is, IF I ever eat there again, it will be at noon or at dinner time. It was dead so I am guessing they served us up old stuff. The waitress who didn't appear to be a waitress was useless. She didn't know the menu at all because she brought us the wrong stuff twice. What she did bring was cold. Not even warm--cold. My chicken enchilada had a huge bone in it. To top it all off, my friend and I both woke up sick with stomach issues. Very disappointed.
I have been going to this restaurant since I was a teenager. I have taken everyone I know. The food is very authentic and delicious. Their fajitas are the best I've had and I also recommend the carne guisada or burrito suizo. The salsa is perfect and the chili con queso is the number 1 reason I go. Other people that I've taken really like the taco salad, the nachos and the enchiladas. At night every table has at least one of their amazing (& very strong!) regular and strawberry margaritas. The service is impeccable, they can easily accomodate large parties and the wait is minimal. To top it off it's super cheap!! Once you go, you will come back with your friends, family and coworkers.
I frequent Sandtrap often. My friends and I love the bar with all kinds of different things that they let you taste. The fish tacos are the best in town. I have been to a few parties there and they do a great job at them and will make you anything you want. We go back alot because the staff is super friendly and it feels like you are in your own restaurant. The prices are unbeatable, most places $5 margaritas have no alcohol in them and are tiny. At the Trap you get a full pint glass of a killer margarita that they make with fresh squeezed lime juice. Just ask for Cyrus he will help you get situated and take great care of you.
My husband & I recently had dinner at Los Cucos Seafood & Steaks and it was more than what we expected! My husband ordered the New York strip steak, and he's pretty picky with his steak, well, he was picken the rest of the meat away from the fat that was left over! :) His pasta that came with it was better than any italian restaurant we've been too...and that's alot! I had the steak & stuffed shrimp...my steak was so good that there was none left over when I was finished either, and the stuffed shrimp were delicious! I definitely would recommend anyone to go have dinner there, you'll probably see us there! L & M
