My three children attend the Louetta branch. They all love going, and we feel very comfortable leaving them there. My oldest has been there since she was 3 months old. The teachers are all very friendly and approachable. We also love that all the teachers know all three of our kids by name. I have never had a problem with any of my children being hurt repeatedly, as stated in the other reviews. My oldest two were bitten once or twice in the Toddler class by other kids, but were not repeatedly bitten or hurt. My oldest attends a Spanish class once per week and has participated in various other extra-curricular activities offered by the school. All of my kids are leaps and bounds above their cousins, who stay at home. None of my children have ever cried about being left there, they've never been put in another kids clothes or their clothes given to another kid. No, there is not an "observation room", but the internet cameras are available for $20/month, not $300/month as stated by the other review. We have subscribed to this service for the past 5 years. The racial mix of children in my oldest child's class is split pretty evenly. The only complaint we've had in the past was support teacher turnover, but this seems to have subsided in the past year or so. There has not been a large turnover of lead teachers in the classes my children have attended. A fair amount of the support teachers are young adults attending college. Most that we have been exposed to are pursuing a degree in child education of some sort. I would recommend (and have recommended) this childcare center to anyone.

This place was great! they were very professional and respectful of all my things. I received service from them almost 3 weeks ago and it still is fresh as the day they did it. I tell my friends and family they are great AND AFFORDABLE my home is a 3bedroom 2 bath and I was charged $90.00 flat r…
My daughter attended this school for almost three years. In that time period, she had a couple of amazing teachers and a few that were not so great. You can tell which teachers really care about their students and you can definitely tell which ones are just there for a paycheck. Some of them are quick to yell at the kids in a harsh tone and say rude things, and I've seen a teacher drag a child on the ground into the hallway by the arm. The front desk lady at the Kindergarten building (Mrs. Karen) is very sweet and helpful even though she is always super busy. I would say the shining star at this school is Mrs. Chapelle (sp?) She was my daughter's Pre-K teacher and is one of the most involved and nurturing teachers I've seen. She genuinely cared about my daughter and made her feel comfortable. You can tell she really cares about all the kids there. My daughter's Kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Cole and she is a great teacher. My daughter learned so much and is well past where she should be as a First Grader thanks to her. The school is pretty nice and large but it is in a bad neighborhood and if you leave anything valuable in your car it is likely to not be there when you come back out. I would recommend this school if you have a weird schedule since it is 24 hours, but if you can afford a school in a better area, I would do it. All in all I gave the school a 3 because they are pretty much equal in good/bad qualities.
When my daughter was 2 it was time to move from home care with her grandmother to a daycare for the experience to grow and learn and socialize with other kids. Like most mothers I do not make the decision of choosing child care easily, nothing but the best would do. I found Joy after doing a lot of research and visiting many centers in the area. I knew Joy was the best place by far after my very first visit and there was no other place I would ever consider again. My daughter has loved the center and everyone there since day one, even when it was hard for me to leave her that day, worried it would be difficult for her to adjust, she just waved and said "Bye Mom" then ran off to play. The teachers are all very loving, patient, attentive and absolutely great with the kids. It's very clean and safe and has a fantastic, structured curriculum that doesn't compare to any other daycare I have ever seen. It has been 3 1/2 years now and my daughter is finally starting kindergarten already knowing how to read and write on a first grade level! My husband and I feel very blessed to have found Joy, Ms. Cher and Mr. Mel and all the wonderful teachers who have helped shape my baby girl into such a smart, well mannered and genuinely happy child. Thankfully we live close by and she will attend the local elementary school so she will most likely be staying at Joy until she is too old to go anymore :-)
In searching for a child care provider, it has been quite a hardship for my 21/2-year old daughter and I. I tried putting her in a private caregiver's home, but it just didn't work out for us. In short, my daughter was watching TV a lot of the time and I just didn't believe she was getting enough attention and or was not being looked after by the caregiver 100% of the time. She cooked their meals and went to the restroom (without a substitute replacing her) during the child caring times. This was not acceptable to me. I tried several licensed centers, but was disappointed with much of their services, because, what mattered to me most-care, safety, & program content-was lacking or not intensive enough. Luckily, I received an advertisement from Joy and went to see them. This place was more than I expected to get. Joy is a modest-size building, but has a great team of directors and teachers who have a passion for caring and teaching children. My daughter is now enrolled here. I have dropped by at many different times of the day and have always seen my daughter busy learning vocabulary & songs, making art, playing outdoors and more. What I like about Joy is that they have made me feel comfortable and my child very happy. Here, she has discovered her talents and is challenged to learn more. We feel very fortunate to have found Joy.
I am a parent that is very pleased with what I see at Allstars Daycare and Preschool. In the Infant classroom, you'll see the teacher holding, caring for, and playing with each child. They talk to the babies, helping them develop their language skills. The also have toys to help them work on their physical skills. The best part about this daycare is that they start your child with My Baby Can Read in the infants classroom up to 3 years of age.In the toddler classroom, the children enjoy being held and read to . Each day in Circle Time they enjoy songs teaching them their name, colors, shapes, days of the week, ect. The also do activities that help them to develop their language skills along with their small and large muscle skills. The teachers work on their social and emotional skills with adult interaction. They are taught to recognize their name and numbers, so by the time they turn 3 years old they are ready for Preschool. My child has been in this daycare since it open and is now three and knows how to read. I just had a new baby and just enrolled her at this daycare. Me myself have been up to the daycare to look in on the class to make sure that what I saw the first day was what my child would be learning and have watch in on every class thats how I no if you take your kids to the Center you will LOVE the outcome.....
My (now 2 year old) son has been attending Toddler House for 6 months now and we just love it. We compared several full-time care facilities prior to selecting, and the difference with the Toddler House is the behavior of the children. When we visited other locations, the children were wild, everywhere, and terrible listeners. At the TH on 34th street, the children are well-behaved and sweet to one another. Often, my son wants to sing happy birthday to the other kids in his class at night because they are friends. The staff are caring and proactive with their communication, they have tried and true advice if an issue comes up (from diaper rash to temper tantrums), but honestly the best thing that happened to our son was his vocabulary. When we dropped him off he was almost 20 months and not talking, despite our nanny working tirelessly with him. After two months being surrounded with the other kiddos, he started speaking clearly. Now, he can easily count to ten, he sings most of his ABCs, and he loves animal noises. They really worked with him, and you can just tell the staff adore him. It's a wonderfully homey environment. If you are looking for the latest and greatest technology and equipment, this isn't the place for you. But if you want caring women to work with your child in small class sizes, this place is great.
I am a first time mom and when looking at my childs care options in the area, I was not really pleased with any of them. I found the MSOD and was impressed. I enrolled my daughter and she loved it! This is an environment where she thrived and loved going to school. The teachers were interactive and the facility was very nice. I dont know why it got so many negative reviews. No, you are not allowed to go into the class rooms because they dont allow anyone in the class rooms other than the teachers for security/ sanitary reasons. But you have a huge bay window to view your child through and watch their class. I never had any issues with how she was treated or things she was learning. She did get sick very often but it was her first time in child care and she did not build up her immune system. The school sends out weekly newsletters, pictures and has family nights scheduled at local restaurants. It is run like a school and your child will learn. Not every family is built for the montessori requirement, others might feel better having their child in a day care facility. I wanted my daughter to learn and benefit from being in child care, so this was the perfect facility for us. The only reason why she is at a new facility is because we moved accross town. We both deffidently miss MSOD!
I used to work for this daycare..... There is absolutely NO source of discipline in this place.....kids get away with waaaay too much.... The physical abuse these kids dole out on each other is insane and as a teacher I was helpless by management to resolve any of it...I was treated very poorly by staff and the turnover there was on a regular basis. They just wanted basically anyone to fill a position quickly....I loved my kids so much and was hurt by how management cared more about how much tuition they were recieving rather than concerns of caretakers and parents...If I couldnt correct a child on how they were behaving then how was the behavior supposed to stop?....You had to watch everything you said to a parent too....If something was misunderstood in a conversation, management ALWAYS took the parents side...never once was I backed up by my boss....she was a snobby rich socialite who looked down on us "lower class workers"....My daycare was in a wealthier area and it was the management NOT the parents who gave me hell working there...The kids were wonderful
After my initial good impression of this center, I am unhappy to report that I will no longer be using their services. My son is a Kindergartner and we live a few blocks away. We use Kidz Academy on a day by day basis when HISD is out for holidays. He has been there once, and I was very pleased with the kindness of the owner and her husband. However on 11/25/14 I called in to advise them my son would not be at the academy for 11/26 due to a change in plans. One of the staff members whom answered, only spoke Spanish. I kindly asked to speak to someone who spoke English. She sounded very annoyed that I did not speak Spanish. This was disrespectful and very unprofessional. That was strike one. She handed the phone over to an English speaking employee and as I began to introduce myself, she hung up on me. Strike two. I called back immediately from the same phone and they would not pick up. Striked three. I was forwarded to voicemail, left a voicemail, and it was not returned. My son will not be attending this establishment anymore.
With the birth of my first child, I was extremely careful and thorough about my search for a caretaker. I researched state ratings, inspection results, curriculum and so much more. Once care-taking facilities passed in those areas, I went for site visits. After going to several centers in my area, I visited Life. The facility was clean; the workers were polite; and the classes were orderly. All of which was quite impressive. To see the children happy and enjoying learning was even more appealing. But was sold me was how evident it was that the teachers love the children and love teaching them. The warmth I felt when I walked in each classroom assured me that the environment was more than just safe and nurturing. It was moreover a loving environment. My decision was made and five years later, my three children are still there and love everyday they attend. I've NEVER been disappointed. Its like their second home and extended family. It is the best choice that I've made as it relates to my children.
