RJ Mexican Cuisine: Great Seafood - Steaks - Chicken - RibsDallas, TX Review Date: 08/27/2008 OH My Goodness... I wasn't really in the mood for Mexican Food when I walked in there but I kept an open mind and I was blown away. Starting with the hot and spicy salsa...it wasn't enough to drive me away from it but it was enough to make my nose run and want some water. It was delish! I order Tacos and they were wonderful. Although I expected to get a typical taco with meat, cheese, lettuce and so but it came out with just meat and cheese and I was surprised with how much flavor it boasted. It came with a side of refried beans (which I usually hate) but they were also wonderful, slightly creamier than normal but they drew in a wonderful garlic accent with some additional spices I couldn't put my toungue on. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff was wonderful and a delight, RJ even opened the door for us. Even though it was raining, they opened up the patio for us so we could have a drink out there and be able to smoke. I would definately revisit them and I would recommend it to anyone.
2. Mi Cocina

The Mi Cocina bar is unparalleled - the Mambo Taxis/Limos are my favorite drinks in the whole city (this is coming from a past wild child who has been around the block a few times). I do not think the food is that great of a value, but love the drinks :)
Carolina's is my under the radar favorite Mexican restaurant. Always good food and never a long wait like you can get at Mi Cocina. I love their fajitas and last time a friend recommended I order their ""Sunset fajitas"" which aren't on the menu but are amazing. I highly recommend them.

I just want to say we had a fabulous dinner and drinks at Cantina Laredo on the tollway. We went there expecting to be just another mexican restaurant but were we wrong. The bone-in cacabel ribeye was awesome, and my girlfriend had the seabass which was also great. Be sure tohave the table side…
We have been going here almost since it opened. The service has always been good. The hot sauce is sometimes a little too hot but it is the best and its addictive. My whole family will hardly go anywhere else. My husband and I both have gotten the beef fajitas and ours have always been tender.
11. Juan's Tex Mex
Juan's was one of my favorite spots in Dallas for lunch. The prices were more than reasonable and the food was always terrific. The Azteca Burrito was one of my favorites, and although not a regular menu item they were always willing to prepare it.\r \r I have no clue why but the restaurant is…
12. Juan's Hacienda
Horrible service! Required a Texas ID to have an alcoholic beverage. Does not cater to out-of-state patrons and waitstaff was actually quite threatening. Waitstaff was absolutely horrible. Not a good place to eat. Left restaurant without eating- BY CHOICE. Will never step foot in this plac…
Went to this restaurant for the first time and loved it! Since the owner is the creator of the frozen margarita machine, we had to try one of their margaritas. Had the Papas Margarita...handmade with lime and sugar and top tequila! Excellent taste! Server talked me into getting the Cilantro …
This is a good place to get a quick taco. Tacos are 99 cents each, which is fair. A meal with 3 tacos, rice and beans is $5.99. Rang up closer to $7.50 for me since I had sour cream. I didn't know that sour cream was that expensive and didn't see it listed anywhere that they charged extra fo…
29. Luna De Noche
When it comes to perfect this was it, hospitality, food quality, moderate price you name it every thing was perfect, especially for a Tex Mex restaurant the service and attention that I got I would not have got in an Up scale restaurant that have a Matre'D, one of my favorites are the Luna tacos…
Tried the three-week old restaurant Friday night. The staff was Extremely friendly (is it possible to be Too nice?) We found the decor to be non-existent, aside from pretty wall paint. The salsa was excellent, refried beans and rice forgettable, but the beans in the cup with juice were great. My friend's enchiladas casero were under seasoned, dryish and strange somehow, my grilled chicken with poblanos, onions and cheese was cooked well, but the waiter had to point out where the cheese was on the chicken (not a good place to skimp!) I had to use my glasses. Because it's close, we'll give them another chance to get it right.
Uncle Julio's is a good Tx-Mex resturant. Very popular. The bad things about it are ... It is very popular, so may have to wait on a table and the menu is a bit pricey. Now the good news. Unclie Julio's the without any question in my mind the very best place for beef Fajita's in Texas. They ought to market their beef marinade. If they did they would make a fortune. Twenty years ago when I first started going to Uncle Julio's they were very reasonably priced. I blame Addison and the Addison store for driving prices up. Still, if you tatste Uncle Julio's beef fahita's, every other fahita you ever eat will seem second best.
EVERY TIME WE ARE IN DALLAS WE ALWAYS HAVE TO EAT AT GONZALES AT LEAST ONCE. ALEX AND HIS FAMILY ARE GREAT. I USE TO LIVE DALLAS SEVERAL YEARS AGO. NO I LIVE PHOENIX, AZ. I recently tried this new restaurant last week , and it was amazing all of the employees were very friendly and respectful . they give you alot of attention , and treat you like you are at home . It is very clean, new and beautiful . You have a choice to eat outside in the front patio , inside down stairs , inside upstairs or upstairs patio. They have all kinds of amazing food , i had the shrimp cocktail and it was delicious ! My husband had the steak ranchero and said it was the best ! The chips and salsa they serve you is also very good, I recommend this place , it was perfect , go and try it out !
This is a wonderful overall experience, if good food is what you're after. There's not a bad item on the menu. I especially enjoy the beef plate, a generous portion of fajita beef with half a lime and tortillas, rice and beans. The dining room is always clean and pleasant, but more often I take the order home to the family, to share at our own dining table. Pricing is very reasonable, too, so I always feel I get a good value. The kitchen has an open concept, so you can see that it's always clean. The counter staff, and the folks behind them making it happen, are always pleasant and courteous.
I was there with my family today ;it was my first time and i had Victorias Combo Plate i didnt expect the food to be so good ! The brisket was Delicious ! The service was great , my server's name was Javier and he was the best ! TheMargaritas are extraordinary ! They are really going above and beyond ! They made me feel like i was at home . It is the first time they treat my family and i so special , we have been to other restaurants but not like this one . The food is the best , i honestly recommend it .
I've had alot of good experiences at this place, but today was different... Apparently they don't know how to take orders over the phone!! They only got one thing down wtf??!! I order over the phone so I could just pick up my order and go, but no I had to wait cause the idiot waitress doesn't know how to do her SIMPLE job!! And by the way I ordered a chile relleno and it was not good at all! The tacos were great tho!! Anyways I like this place but will not be doing take out ever from herf!!!
Hard to find good Mexican Food, but I finally did. Best I've ever had plus giant portions. The chips and salsa are out of this world. The drinks are the best in town. Service is outstanding and the waiters are extremely friendly and the waiters are very attentive to your needs. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends. Extremely relaxing atmosphere and great outdoor patio. If you don't try this restaurant, you are totally missing out. Will definitely go again.
We sat down around 7:45 on a Saturday night; not too busy yet, but it started to get busy while we were eating. The food was great, but the service was a little slow. It took a few times asking for our waiter to bring us what we asked for. We ordered pitchers of margaritas which took a lot longer to get to our table than they should have. Great food and great patio space though; the fish tacos were great!Primo's is still a great spot in Uptown.
