This bank is such a pain. There are four locations in Lawrence, all with different hours. One recently decided to be drive-thru only, one isn't open on the weekends, and the other is in Walmart. Out of four, only one has regular bank availability but I've never used it because it's on the other side of town. There's a monthly fee that was added a few years ago. For the life of me I can't figure out how that was justified sine the service has only gotten worse since then. Yesterday my PayPal account was compromised. Someone in Mexico spent a lot of money. I called Central National as soon as I saw the receipt in my email. I was told to "watch my account" and call when the charges hit. I asked if they could block the charges from going through. They said no, but for $30 they could "flag it", whatever that means. I asked if they would wave the overdraft fee since I knew if I had to wait for them to hit my account my balance would be negative. They said no, but I could open a request to reverse the overdraft fee once the fraudulent charges were resolved. I closed the account today before anything had a chance to hit my account. The automated service from PayPal was more helpful than my own bank.
The drive thru for commercial accounts is always so slow. 2nd time I've spent 20 min waiting. Unacceptable for a bank that is supposed to be convenient.
This bank does business the way I always felt banks should, but since I'd never seen it happen in 47 years of life, I'd given up hope of ever finding such flawless, customer oriented banking policies. The friendly people there have always done above the call of duty for me, even when times were very bad for me, and for this reason, I will never use another bank if I have any choice. They actually treat customers as valuable assets to be taken care of. Every bank I've had before seems to have gone out of it's way to maximize profits at my expense, even in unfair ways. Central National gives customers the benifit of the doubt in a way few businesses dare to in these hard times. Thanks much to Scott, Hunter, Caitlin, Kim, and any of the others whose names I haven't learned yet. You really treat me like a friend, and You all have won me as a customer for life. It's as bad as this:. This is the only bank worth doing business with. I moved out of town, but I still love to travel to it just to be reminded that customer service still exists. I've never been the most advertising customer, as I recognize there are different reasons for banking selection. How can anyone NOT choose a bank where the bank tries to give it's customers the benefit of the doubt, and charge FEWER service charges than it can. I've never wanted to have much money before. Ya'll have made me want to have more just so I can let you manage more of my life. Thank you SO Much, and to the managers up the line grumbling about the lower income resulting from your policy of adding deposits FIRST at the end of the day, instead of charging overdrafts, debits, and service charges first, as soon as it was possible, like my last 3 banks did, i.e. Commerce Bank (most greedy, deceiptful bank I've ever had,) First bank was almost as bad. Banks have always taken as much as they could from me. Central National of Lawrence Takes as little as it can. No other bank comes close.
