Kim is great. I have been going to this barber shop for all my haircuts since I started working downtown Chicago in 1996. Since Peter retired last year, I have only used Kim. I always call for an appointment first, so I do not need to wait in line. 111E Wacker, Chicago, 312.644.1441 Inside Illinois Center, a little hidden in one of the back hallways, the hallway next to a Citibank branch, and near a shoe repair shop. Patty has been ill and Passed Away on Wednesday 03/13/13. She opened Big Hair on a wing and a prayer. It has been a pivotal establishment in Roscoe Village for 20 years. She helped to gentrify the neighborhood when it was in poor shape. She provided $5 cuts to all who could not afford to get their hair in shape for whatever the case was. I have seen Her give free cuts to those who had no money. To those who were not pampered and coddled by her big heart, shame on you! Go to Mario TrickOsee or Avoida. Patty was a true gift to Roscoe Village and a blessing to all she touched.
I moved from NY. 1yr. Ago. I'd been searching for a Barber here in the Southloop since!! Until I stumbled on to Rashaad" he gave me his card, a smile and said: I understand... I had to come and see what kind of job he would do on my hair. It was Great!! Very professional on time great cut & shave! And Very well priced! This is now my new Barber! You have to see and experience to understand. A young man with old school experience. From haircut to shave, nostral hair trim, ear hair trim. Facial massage before and after shave!! The right way! A must see!
Enjoyed my hour massage last Sunday, thank you Jaquie :)' God bless those strong hands. From the moment I walked in I was welcomed with a smile, offered the most wonderful hot cup of tea, then guided to the massage room where relaxing music and the soothing scents of incent were awaiting me. I felt like royalty. Within minutes, I was relaxed, and good bye stress... I left energized, ready for the work week, and I made an appointment for the following month. Will I recomend this place? Hell yeah!
Payton Sims is a wonderful man who has maintained a safe and secure place of business for young African American men to come and experience stable example of a "Black man" giving back to his community. He has paid for many to go to Barbara school while giving them a daily stipend for meals as an encouragement to persevere. He should be commended for saving the lives of many who would have otherwise given in to gangs, drugs and violence! Thank you Mr. Sims!
A very unique experience. It was great because I got all of the stylist's attention and she took the time to help me figure out exactly what I wanted. She works by appointment only and I love that when I need to book something I can just send an email or text because its always hard to remember to call during business hours. I do have to remember to book in advance because she gets very busy.
I decided to visit and try out this barbershop. It's not a big barber but the man who cut my hair did a fantastic job. His name is Leroy. There is a TV and cable so you have a bit of entertainment. My haircut cost $20 because I asked for a Mohawk. The guy even edged my lining with a razor. He did great. Overall it is a place way too go for a haircut.
The best Barber Shop in South Chicago. They have great customer service and get you in and out. You wont find their Barbers on the phone when you in the chair...they are on your time. They are an all inclusive shop and welcome the entire family to come for their hair grooming needs.
