I lived in New Jersey most of my life. I am an Italian/American; I know what excellent pizza looks and tastes like. Since I moved down to Virginia Beach, I have tried pizza in many different establishments. Some pies were good, some were bad, many were so-so. None tasted or looked exactly like Jersey Pizza. I nearly gave up on finding an excellent, authentic pie down here. Then, I read about a new place....Bella Pizza. I figured I would give it a try. It is tucked away in the back of a small strip mall, at the corner of South Lynnhaven and Lynnhaven Parkway. Looks like any other takeout parlor. I ordered a regular pie. Just tomato and cheese, nothing fancy. That is the only way to gauge how good a pie is. I picked it up, brought it home, opened the box, pulled out a slice, and thought I had died and gone to heaven. The taste was pure Jersey! Just enough rich tomato, chewy mozzarella cheese, and a perfect crust. When you bend it, a couple golden drops of oil fall to the plate. The crust....semi-dark, with that slight grainy feel....holds up perfect, bends just right. I could not believe how much I felt like I was back home, when I sank my teeth into that crust, the tomatoes, the cheese, the oil. I have now adopted Bella Pizza on South Lynnhaven, for as long as I live in the area. My search is finally over. Perfection. Bella!

I enjoyed every bite. My friend and I finished a large between the two of us, but we probably would have been okay with a medium pizza. I ordered my pizza with tomatoes, garlic, and pepperoni. You probably don't need any of those ingredients....next time I'd just get a basic cheese. I think the crust, tomato sauce, and cheese are so flavorful, that you will be satisfied. The wait is what everyone talks about on the delivery, But wait times can be upwards of an hour if you order at a busier time. Plan ahead if possible, because this place is worth the wait.

I ordered a slice of pepporoni pizza, a cheesesteak and a kids chicken tender meal with fries and sure it took 45 minutes for the delivery guy to get here but it was worth the wait since I don't drive at the moment lol! All this for $17.00 The pizza was nice and greasy and the cheesesteak was warm and tasty sure it's not Pat's King Of Steaks or Tony Luke's in Philly but it was damn tasty and the chicken tenders and fries were nicely cooked as well. Other than Gino's up the road on General Booth this is the best pizza you can get in the Nimmo General Booth Red Mill area. I will definitely be back at 2181 Upton Dr. Suite 404 757-427-9990!
Lovely casual atmosphere, prompt service, courteous staff and decent prices with ample portions. Their Greek pizza (Athens Special) is a delicious choice. Of all the appetizers, we've enjoyed the Spanakopita and the pita w/Tzatziki sauce the best. All the pasta choices are good and the portions, what may seem small, are actually enough to fill up a growing teenager! My favorite dessert is the traditional Greek baklava, but the carrot cake comes in 2nd. The dry red Greek wine is a nice choice to almost any one of their entrees, and their coffees taste on par with Starbucks (at about half the price).
My husband and I are from Connecticut and know what a real New York Pizza tastes and looks like. We lived in Tennessee for 2 years and have lived here for almost 2 years and have had the hardest time finding a GREAT pizza until we found Pizza Palace. We order probably every other week, and have always had very good service, great food and every associate that we have encountered at Pizza Palace has treated us with the utmost courtesy. I don't know what the other reviews are talking about. You get what you give.
I, like millions, love the simplicity of pizza. For me pizza has been done for so many years and by many that there is no excuse for a bad pie. this is pizza heaven. Other than the out dated place, its totally worth it. The menu is simple and straight forward. The prices are extremely cheap for its worth. The brick oven taste in your mouth with the perfect crust, sauce and cheese. I bring all my friends and relatives when they visit, and they all go back telling, its the best they ever had.
I always go in & order to go . The place is small & seems cluttered but it's expected with how little the place is . The lady knows me & my grandmother . I always get the philly cheese steak & it always tastes like it's from philly ! & the pizza . Taste like home (jersey) I like to sit there & chit chat . Today it was just the lady by herself & she seemed overwhelmed but I was patient . I mean there was nothing she could do . But she's always super sweet & the subs & pizza are delicious
This is a decent joint to eat in when you are on a budget and want a good meal. The prices are fair and the food is served fairly prompt. The service is pretty good unless you request a dish to have certain items omitted (for example: onions, bell peppers) or extra even if you are willing to pay for it (for example: extra olives). The staff is friendly enough. Again, I would recommend this to anyone that would like good food at not bad prices.
An absolute gem! 6 adults went in hungry and came out stuffed with plenty of leftovers. The pizza was the best I've had since I moved from Philadelphia almost 20 years ago. The stromboli, the small one, was 2 slabs that filled an entire plate and the veal parm was awesome. The service was fast, the people friendly and the atmosphere very uplifting. Total cost? $45! Go there and check it out. You will be more then happy.
