I have never experienced poor customer service from this bakery but I don't frequent it that often (2 reasons: my waistline and it is out of my way). Even if I did, I take inspiration from Brooke Shields on this one: nothing comes between me and my cake. Let's get one thing straight, okay? You want the most delicious chocolate cake you've ever had in your life? You come here. End of story. The carrot muffins, the coffee...everything about it is perfect. Calories? They don't count above 145th Street anyway. I've driven down from Westchester just to get a fix. I've doubled parked in front of police officers to get that sugar rush. I missed spinning classes to get in before they close. I've run across Broadway, nearly losing my shoe and my life. So, yes, it is worth it.
Believe it or not, watching TV tonight on how knishes was made, up popped Yonah's Bakery. Sir I'll have you know, that when I was hungry, you fed me. I ran away from home at 16 in 1961, I think that was the year, and I lived on your knishes. and slices of pizza on 42nd street. I LOVE knishes, haven't had one since 16. would love to make some. Thank you for being there for me. Hadn't thought about them in years. so filling esp for a hungry kid God Bless You
Cupcakes: sure you can get them everywhere, and your homemade versions are probably more delicious, but how about those funky flavors you see on Pinterest and cooking shows: who ha stone to make all of those flavors at once just to try one? That's why you come here. Ordered a six pack to go, total variety: my favorite were the Twinkie and Choc Banana. But we ate all the others too, nothing went to waste.
I went to ceci-cela last week and it was delicious. Best truffles I have ever had. And their chocolate croissants....yummm. Just as good. I would recommend both but they still have so much I haven't tried yet. I am going again next week. I just got myself a certificate for $15 when i only paid $7. They still have some until tomorrow so go to halfoffdepot. Check em out...
Some of the best places I've ever been. Next to West side Highway, located fairly visible to the front of the street (and I think there was a bank on the other side). Place is clean, prices are fair, and the service is nice. The food could have been better, but the overall impression the place left me was positive...
All right, Magnolia is cute and an NYC icon of-sorts, but Billy's is actually better. I much prefer Billy's icing to Magnolia's any day. My favorite was the yellow daisy cupcake with chocolate buttercream frosting. Pairing it with some hot chocolate made it a perferct NYC dessert on a cold, winter's evening.
So Yummy Cakes makes really good cake pops..I live and Georgia and I came across Soyummycakes.com and I loved their cake pops. so I emailed and asked if they could be shipped all the way to Georgia and I was in luck. We needed a break after a long walk and this was the place that looked very inviting and relaxed. As a "boulangerie" we had to try the Croissant and the Pain De Raisins: both were amazing. My doubleshot Espresso was perfect too. Come in, relax, people watch and eat.
Simpley delicious french brunch options. I had the quiche with salad and a latte. The staff was friendly and prompt. They played delightful french music & i was whisked away to a parisan cafe immediately. I didn't want to leave.
Chocolate, chocolate chip cookies are the best. Oatmeal raisin are really good, too. Even if the line is out the door, it moves fast enough. Don't be discouraged.
