Sky Top Apple Orchard

This was our first time coming here. We wanted cider and doughnuts. We saw a huge huge line formed out to the parking lot. It was the line for doughnuts. We waited about 25 minutes, but found out it was worth the wait. The doughnuts were hot and fresh out of the fryer. SO AMAZING. The apple selection was ok. I wanted to get a couple of flavors bulk, but that was not possible. I had to purchase them buy the bag. The cider is 9.00 a gallon. The doughnuts were 10.00 a dozen. This is pricey, but you are paying for an experience. There are rides and animals for the kids. You can pick your apples if you want.
Parking is a challenge. I would recommend not going on the weekends if you do not like crowds.

This scenic orchard is located south of Asheville, North Carolina and makes a nice addition to a weekend in Western North Carolina. You can pick your own apples and enjoy: tractor-pulled hayrides, small pond where you can feed ducks, an animal park where you can visit farm animals, playground structures for the kids, and a bamboo forest to explore. They also have yummy apple cider donuts and a variety of take home treats from their little shop. The lines for fresh donuts can get long, so be sure to scope it out right away when you arrive.
