My husband and I have adopted from this facility in the past. We rescued my best friend from there in fact. The condition she was in when we arrived to pick her up and bring her home were horrible. Now she is thriving and loving life.

Recently we not only wanted to make a rather large donation to this facility to possible assist in it's overall ability to tend to the amimals likewise structure, etc. Though prior to mentioning that fact my husband made an inquiry to adopt. It began friendly enough. Formal, proper. Sadly ending with Eddie leaving an impression that at dang near 50 yrs old my husband and I were ignorant incapable of tending to and looking out for God's creations in their time on need. Interesting how all our previously adopted family members from various other facilities including their facility are alive and well. How our turkeys, barn cats, llamas, guineas, chickens, roosters, peacocks do just fine. Safe, sheltered, fed, watered and loved. Fresh air, green grass, rainy days inside, puddles to play in, nurtured and treated with freedoms and decency.. To each their own really.

Wish the Yukon pet's and people facility the best, good health and much success...as no we will not be back nor do we wish to support or contribute to this type of behavior and treatment of people genuinely attempting to better the lives of the animals, the facility is holding. Good luck folks.

A Horror House of Deceit and Cruelty!! Never take pets or strays to this facility! If you have, you will probably find your name on a Do Not Adopt List for animal cruelty!! My landlord does not allow pets. I had a stray cat come to my front door everyday for months. My kids loved and played with him all the time. He was such a loving and adorable cat. Always purring and rubbing and playing with them. One day I went out the door and found him lying on the front porch, all broken and mangled. His back leg and hip was broken. Half of his tail was skinned and dangling. He had been mauled by a large dog. It was raining. He came to us for help. I brought him in and placed him on a warm towel. I asked friends where the nearest shelter was, one that didn't put down animals. I took him to this horrible place. I explained what had happened and that he was a stray. I couldn't keep him and I didn't have any money. They took him. I called back the next day to check on him, and they told me I had been placed on the "Do Not Adopt List", like as if I had done this horrible crime to this lovable cat. The staff are the most inconsiderate and rude people I have ever come across in my whole life. All I did was try to find medical help for this mangled cat. I think they put him down. Do Not take any animals to this facility. And Good Luck trying to adopt one.

What a joke! I drove over an hour to look at a Maine Coon they showed on Petfinder. I had called. The woman who answered said they still had the cat. Not only did they not have it, they had way too many others. I picked out another, filled out the paperwork and the girl in charge (not the one I had spoken to) told me I couldn't have it because it supposedly had squealed when I picked it up, it hadn't. I will never go back! And, six weeks later, the cat is STILL shown on Petfinder!
