AutoZone Auto Parts

I am still in shock!
A couple weeks ago I purchased about $350 in parts from our local Boardman Ohio AUTO ZONE store when our ’07 Ford Edge had an engine error code that indicated that the #1 cylinders ignition coil has failed.
I purchased all 6 new coils and plugs, as recommended by the sales rep, but once installed I noticed the car was still having the same issue as before.
After some research on the internet, I found that our year Ford Edge is notorious for having the coils failing which in turn, also, fry’s the PCM. I went back to Auto Zone for a re-built PCM at that point, but they were unable to contact their vendor that re-builds the Ford brain’s, and had to steer me elsewhere.
Here is where the problem comes in, the companies that do re-build PCM’s on our year Ford, will only give a warranty on them if you purchase the coils and plugs from them as well. This left me with the $350 in “Electronic” parts that I could not use. I told my wife, we can try to return them, but usually part store will not refund money on electrical part.
Now, here is why I am still in SHOCK…
When I went in to Auto Zone and explained the situation to the sales clerk and then asked if I could return the coils and plugs…he did! …he refunded my credit card with no questions asked.
That was AWESOME customer service! I was fully expecting to have to eat the $350, and vowel to never shop there again, but because they were so understanding and helpful, I actually found a new lifetime parts supplier! All 3 of our vehicles have over 100k miles, so even though this transaction may not be ideal for them today….I’ll be back for sure!

During the course of this not-so-pleasant Ford adventure, I dealt with 5 different Auto Zone sales guys including a manager. Each was very knowledgeable and very helpful. They have a great group of guy’s there at your Boardman Ohio store.
