Nunez Mexican Restaurant
"Tried the beef fajitas, Chicken Monterrey, Chimichanga Chicken Fajita (burrito), cheesecake, and flan. Also had the chips and salsa (both green and red); as well as the white cheese dip. The salsas are made fresh in the restaurant, and the red had a noticeable cilantro flavor; went well with the yellow corn tortilla chips. The chips and red salsa are complimentary if ordering from the menu. If eating from the buffet, chips and salsa cost $3.50 plus tax. The Chimichanga Chicken Fajita did not impress at first bite. However, with each successive bite the burrito actually tasted better! Served with rice and beans. Note: the rice had subtle flavor, and some customers may want to add salt to the beans. Price: $7.99, before tax. The beef fajitas were served with beef strips, grilled white onions and green bell peppers. The beef was slightly overcooked; the onions slightly undercooked, but the peppers were just right. Mild flavor. Pleasant temperature when brought to the table. Price: $6.99, before tax. The Chicken Monterrey was impressive! The chicken was tender, the rice good, but the mixed veggies are the best kept secret of the ensemble. Try this dish at some point. Price: $8.99, before tax. Both the cheesecake and the flan also impressed. Both are made fresh by a Nunez family member in the restaurant. The flan has a subtle caramel flavor. Prices per slice: cheesecake---$2.99, before tax; flan---$3.50, before tax."
