Overall

Great store, got an accordion from Mike, sure knows a lot about them. He even gave me what I paid for my old accordion for in-store credit. Definitely going to visit again, it's a great store with awesome customer service.

Overall
Never go here unless you want to get ripped off

(I have two situations) I lived in the area and only went to this place to get guitar strings because at the time I couldn't go anywhere else. The building is cramped because there are way too many instruments there. If you try to buy any of them you'll be told an outrageous number (mind you all of these guitars are heavily used) the 1 guitar I TRADED to get from there lasted 3 weeks before the neck snapped off of the body. But it's okay The guitar I gave them Was in worse shape. The people there aren't very friendly...anyways.. There was a time where I bought 2 guitar cords from there and when I got home and plugged them both Cords didn't even work and I was refused a refund on them. Like I said DONT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF

Hi Nik, Sorry to read about your discontent. It is our practice to check prices online, both new and used, to make sure that our customers get an amazing value on everything we offer. We offer new and used guitars. Your complete satisfaction is our goal and we pride ourselves on friendly service. Most of our cords carry a lifetime warranty. As for the guitar, usually the necks don't just snap off, but I would be willing to look at yours, if you still have it. Thanks, Mike Carey 734-283-4550

Overall
the best and only music store I will ever go to

I've been going to this downriver steaple since I was 16. I got my first guitar there, my first harmonica set p.a. system, you name it, mike Carey music got it for me!!! you may go to other music stores and thing they are good, they have nothing on MC2 (that's what his faithful following calls the store) anyways, they can offer you the same stuff big name store does, but at a cheaper cost. he has always bent over back wards to help his customers. if he doesn't have it, he will do whatever it takes to get it in your hands, the staff is highly knowledgeable and trained by Mr. Carey himself. no wonder he has been around for close to 20 years. he knows what he's talking about and beats any and all prices. they internet check the product before hand to ensure you get the vest equipment at door buster prices.

once you go in there they treat you like family. I feel like I'm a part of a second family. they say they care about you, and they actually do. stop into see mike caret today. trust me you will leave a changed person.

Overall
I walked in to Mike Carey Musi...

I walked in to Mike Carey Music to sell a guitar of mine. I had driven by there previously, and saw the big sign on their window that says, "buy, sell, trade", so I figured this was a good place to check out. I had already received a lowball offer from Guitar Center for my guitar, and figured that I would rather do business with a local shop if I was going to sell. Anyhow, I walked in to the store and noticed 5 people sitting around the front desk, tuning and playing a guitar, nothing unusual there. However, I waited for about 30 seconds before anyone even said hello to me. Nobody at the shop asked me what I needed or how they could help.... just a glancing hello and back to the guitar. I then told everyone there (since I didn't know who was an employee and who was a customer) that I was looking to sell my Fender Telecaster. The man tuning the guitar, who seemed to work at the store, said, "I think we have all the guitars we need right now, but hold on". Then he went back to tuning/playing the guitar. I sat in this cramped, dank little shop for 5 or more minutes, waiting for some other response. But, nobody said another word to me. They all just kept talking amongst themselves. I was going to ask for help again, but should I really have had to? Finally, I just turned around and slowly made my way out the door. No one at the shop tried to stop me or asked me where I was going. In the end, I would have liked to given my business to a local company, but looks like im headed back to guitar center. At least they say Hi and introduce themselves to customers. I wouldn't be suprised if this little hole was closed soon. Nice work fellas!

Sorry if my staff was inattentive to your needs. Hopefully you were able to get the price you wanted for your guitar. Buy, Sell, Trade does not necessarily mean 'buy everything' and we do get many, many people in this economy who are looking to sell whatever they can afford to get rid of. Some days we can buy things for our stock, and some days we cannot. This usually depends on how many people were shopping to buy with us. Regardless, I do apologize for your disappointment in your visit to our shop. If you find it in your heart to stop in again, I believe you will find improved attentiveness whether you are here to Buy, Sell, Or Trade.

Great Store!

Just starting out and these guys helped me all the way. Better pricing than amazon or any other online store, so everything is a great deal since you dont have do worry about shipping. I love their trade up policy, you can't go wrong here.
