I am glad to know Dr. Meena and would like to share my case. I know Dr. Meena since early 2009 when I first went to her practice in Worcester for a check-up. The reason for my visit was to take her opinion after being a victim of an improperly fitted bridge for my upper right premolar and canines. I had no problem with my teeth until I met with a car accident in 1997 when my right mandible was fractured. Also, I lost my upper two incisors. My mandible was immobilized for 4 weeks (during which I survived on liquid diet) and the fracture was heeled. Later. my broken incisors were root canal treated and replaced with a new bridge. During all these years, I got a couple of replacement bridges after the previous ones were worn out. Meanwhile, my sinusitis problem was complicated, probably by these treatments and ended up in a tooth abscess of one of the neighboring canine tooth. This was diagnosed when I went to India (Hyderabad, my home town) for a visit. Although they diagnosed the tooth abscess, the dentist I saw in Hyderabad did a sloppy job while taking the measurements for my new bridge, which I needed after extracting the abscessed to tooth. As a result the bridge loosened day after day and came out completely by the time I returned back to Worcester. I was so fortunate that I could see Dr. Meena who identified and fixed the problem. Till today, I had no hint of any issues with the bridge. I am very thankful to Dr. Meena and her skillful approach to address my case.
I was so pleased by how I was looked after. Everyone had such care that no other dentist places I have gone to ever watched over their guests. If I had to rate this place and staff 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest they would get an 11
After looking for a dentist for many years, I finaly found the one whom I can really trust. Dr. Meena was very friendly and sincerely concerned about our well being. She laid out and explained all the options for treatment in easy terms including financial concerns. I truely felt she and her staff genuinely care for each patient. My entire family will be in her dental care for as long as we need.
The five stars are for the cleaning by the dental hygienist. She was phenomenal! I haven't been to a dentist in years and figured the cleaning would hurt like hell. But somehow she managed to do the cleaning without hurting me AT ALL. In addition to being skillful and kind, she was also very knowledgeable and took the time to answer my questions.. Seriously, after putting it off for the last couple of years out of fear, I can't believe how completely painless the cleaning was.
This office is FILTHY. work is sub-par. Staff is RUDE UNCARING and DECEPTIVE. Crowns fell off 4 days after work was completed. I have had several issues that had to be adressed by other doctors. Complications ranging from infection, boneloss, bleeding and pain. Had to undergo emergency surgery from an extraction. Dr never adressed these issue. Have retained an attorney. Consumer reporter is currenlty producing a piece about this practice. PEER REVIEW AND HEALTH INSPECTION comming soon to this office. also several web sources question the validity of her overwhelmingly glowing reviews. AGAIN BEWARE. I would not recommend this office.
This is a retaliatory review written by the patient's friend. The patient barged into the office yelling and screaming at the staff. In addition to making threats, he also used rude and unacceptable language in the office. Hats off to the girls in my office - they stayed calm and requested him to explain his issue. We took X-rays and intraoral pictures of the existing crowns. They look to be in great shape and not a single crown has fallen out. The information presented in the review is completely false. The patient had not kept up with his appointments for more than a year. We talked to the dentist who examined him recently. He found nothing wrong in the treatment. The ADA, Mass Dental Society and the authorities in the Worcester area have all expressed their complete support in this matter.
I went to this Dentist to have my teeth cleaned and concern about a broken crown and the hygienist told me I need deep root scaling. This would have been a very expensive procedure especially since I only had a discount plan and not full dental insurance. This Dentist agreed with the hygienist and I was scheduled for 2 appointments. I had pink gums, no bleeding with flossing and I started to question these procedures so I cancelled the appointments. I also had my teeth cleaned and it only took about 15 minutes and was not a thorough cleaning from what I have experienced all of my life. I called the Dental Board in MA and they told me that in order to make this diagnosis, first a full periodontal chart had to be done with 6 measurements on each tooth as well as full mouth x-rays and in this office only bite wings had been done. When I called their office about this I was told that because I did not have "dental insurance - just a discount plan, full mouth x-rays were not done to "save me some money" I went to another dentist and was told that I absolutely did not need these procedures and he did a full mouth periodontal chart with the required 6 measurements per tooth for confirmation. I left a 1 star rating because it would not let me proceed until I "checked" at least one. Because of the deception, I don't believe that even 1 star is indicated...
The patient came in for a cleaning and regular check up. She had not been to a dentist for many years. When we impressed upon her the importance of doing FMX, she said that she did not want to be exposed to radiation. She was quite adamant about the X-rays not being done. The hygienist performed the necessary measurements as part of the regular perio procedures. It is quite possible that the patient was unaware that the measurements were being done. In fact, the patient had the time to request the hygienist for a job recommendation for her son at the drug store where the hygienist was working as a pharmacy technician. Once the hygienist did the favor, the patient called back to cancel all future appointments and assumed a rude and righteous approach. Instead of being upfront about not willing to pay for the procedures, she has accused the hygienist and myself of suggesting unwanted procedures. In the end, the patient utilized the friendly hygienist for her own ends after which she has demeaned the work and time spent by the hygienist. We are confident about our work and diagnosis.
I think Dr. Meena is excellent, and so are her employees Julie and Maria. Dr. Meena is very good with patients and genuinely cares about their well-being. I have been to a number of different dentists over the years, some good, some ok. Dr. Meena is definitely at the top of the list. She has excellent attention to detail. She is very good with injections that are always painless. Unlike some dentists, she takes time to listen to her patients and takes the time to explain the procedure and what sort of care is necessary now or long-term. Most of the expensive dental procedures result from lack of preventative care over a long period of time, and also because old dental work (no matter how good) will, at some point, need repair. Dr. Meena has a very strong pro-active stance on this, always advising me on how often I should get the cleaning (e.g. more often for me than for others), and offers additional insights (brushing, o ral rinses, which teeth will need to be fixed next). This attitude is what makes a good dentist. Re: one bad review below regarding the insurance - I don't think this is a fair one. No dentist works for free because the costs of keeping a practice are huge. Nevertheless, in all of my past experience (~3+ years), she has always been extremely accommodating and flexible, because she genuinely cares about your teeth. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Meena's dental practice.
My sister is a patient of Dr Meena at Pleasant Street Dental, and she referred me to her after I told her of the bad experience I had with another dentist. I was reluctant to see another dentist, but made an appointment. Dr Meena took time to thoroughly explain what work needed to be done. She was compassionate, gentle and patient. I had an extraction, root canal and other work done. Her staff Julie and Maria were very helpful and also knowledgeable of various procedures and they also follow up with a phone call to check on patients. You get the sense that they really care about you. I'm no longer apprehensive about having dental work done and will continue to see her.
Be real, I went to that office and my family too. I really think that the doctor writes this comments by making up emails (Advertising is the only way to get patients ATTENTION.) My family has masshealth and I have Delta Dental.
The doctor suggest to do crowns, deepscale Ofcourse I have a good Insurance.....But for my family nothing was recommended because they have masshealth (deepscale and crowns are not covered) Isn't that funny
PLEASE THINK TWICE
First and foremost, there is no record of a family with such a first name or last name in my practice. As a result, I strongly suspect that this is a fake review. Secondly, I strictly follow the ADA rule of coming up with a treatment plan for each and every patient according to the condition of their mouth (teeth and gums). I go over the treatment plan with the patient one-on-one and have them acknowledge and sign the plan. Whether the patient wants to go ahead with the procedures in the treatment plan or not, it is entirely up to her/him. My job as a medical professional is to diagnose the problems and suggest possible solutions. I do this for all my patients irrespective of their dental insurance carrier. Lastly, please look up the reviews on my facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/worcesterdmd#!/worcesterdmd?sk=reviews, where there are plenty of happy customers who have shared their positive experiences. This should hopefully prove that I am not in the business of writing my own reviews.
I had a great experience here. My previous dentist wasn't as gentle with me as she was. She booked me right away and the fillings took no time at all! I used to sit for hours at the dentist, but now I'm out very soon! Good experience
I found Dr. Meena very thorough.
She makes it a point to do my mouth cancer screening exam extensively on every visit. I loved my previous dentist, who was an older gentleman. I dreaded having to change dentists since I moved. But my previous dentist never checked the sides of my tongue, under my tongue, my lymph nodes etc.
I am grateful that Dr. Meena takes her time to do this valuable service.
I had a dreadful, almost traumatic experience at this office. Full disclosure: Before visiting this dentist, I had not been to one in maybe two years. As a result, my teeth were not in excellent condition. However, the level of service was both unprofessional and downright brutal. Five days after my cleaning there, my mouth still hurts and I have difficulty eating. During my visit, the dental hygenist worked so fast it was almost as if she was late for appointment. She plugged away as if her goal was to remove the tooth from the gum! I was bleeding so profusely she had to change the sheet they place over you. I even started to cry but she continued like a grim reaper. I know of two other people who had been to other dentists when their teeth were not in great shape and they were treated very differently. In my opinon, a dentist office should not only be safe when your teeth is in great shape. Good service should be provided all the time. The dentist was also unfocused; I informed her I was experiencing jaw pain and she didn't really respond to this. I hope to never go to this office again.
The patient was in pain due to a tooth that needed extraction. The pain was radiating to the jaw. "Referred pain" can manifest as pain in the opposite jaw, headache etc. The problem was probably ignored (as the patient himself confesses) and consequently, the condition probably worsened over the 2 years. Sometimes, when the mouth is not in good condition, even basic cleaning can result in sensitivity. As a result, when there is a lot of tartar and heavy calculus, a proper cleaning may cause sensitivity to the patient. My office runs on the principle of making people comfortable. We take adequate time to make anxious and fearful patients relax. We will not continue cleaning when the patient is complaining of severe pain. We suggest that patients with moderate to severe periodontal disease do deep-scale cleaning procedure. In this treatment, the patient is numbed before cleaning is performed.
She is the best dentist in the Worcester area. Her staff are very pleasant and friendly. Dr. Meena is very concerned about her patient's teeth and wants the best for each patient. She explains everything that she is going to do before she does it. The staff member that deals with the insurance companies is very thorough and goes over exactly what every procedure is going to cost. I would recommend her to anyone.

I really like Dr. Meena's office. Though I have needed only cleanings and some fillings, I have had a very smooth experience. I was worried when I had to change my previous dentist. But now I don't worry about my visits at all and am happily referring all my friends.

Our family knows her from the previous place where she worked. I really did not want to go back to that office when we learned that she had left the office and started her own practice. We have been searching for her the last 18 months. Both my husband and I are so glad that we finally found her. Dr. Meena is a wonderful person - she makes us feel very comfortable. She is always smiling, takes care to explain all the procedures. My husband is full of praises for her. Her office also has a very friendly and helpful staff.

The two older reviews are not for Dr. Meena. She acquired this practice from the previous dentist in January 2009 and those reviews were written before that date.\r \r
Dr. Meena is a wonderful dentist. It is obvious that she cares about her patients. She listens to all my questions and concerns since day one. She does not give up even when the insurance company denied me but she has been successful. It resulted in more of her time and effort spent. But she did not take the easy road.
I have been struggling with my physical appearance and pain my teeth have caused me my entire life. I did not even like to smile, but now thanks to Dr. Meena, I actually smile to show off my new teeth.
Dr. Meena has given me back hope after years of fighting against this genetic abnormality and finding no solution or relief. I had given up. Then I found Dr. Meena. I only wish I had found her earlier.
I got 6 beautiful front crowns done. They look so natural and I cannot stop smiling. The whole process was smooth. The staff is great, extremely friendly. Dr. Meena has renovated the office and the whole place looks so warm and comfortable. Very soothing.
