About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

Intuitive Touch has the best m...

Intuitive Touch has the best massage therapists in Winston-Salem, hands down. My husband and I (and our adult children) get massage regularly and have tried just about every spa and massage group in the area. Whether we're looking for sports massage (for aches/pains related to sports/working out), relaxation or "medical massage" to address real physical issues, there is a therapist (or several) on staff that are top of their field in that modality. We have taken to giving I.T. gift certificates to each other, our family and friends, especially when we find someone who has injuries or ongoing pain. Thomas Wong has been a life-saver for me as I've gone through two back surgeries and rotator cuff surgery. I don't know how I would have made it w/out my regular appointments with him over the years. My husband (who's a golfer) and I both are active and work out, and we've gotten to the point that we just do not like to go anywhere else for massage. When we travel, we will try other spas and massage therapists, but we always say "that was nice, but it wasn't like Intuitve Touch." I think the most important thing is to figure out what kind of massage you need and/or like. Most therapists can do more than one modality, but you're better off getting someone who really specializes in what you like/need. Not every therapist is my favorite since I don't really care for Swedish or relaxation massage that much, but there are at least a half dozen on their staff who I really like and know I will get a consistently superior massage. The same goes for my husband (who has different favorites on staff because he likes a different kind of massage). I suggest you let them know what you like and they'll schedule you with someone they think will work well. What I appreciate is that their therapists REALLY know the human body/systems and know what they are doing. It's not just about feeling better afterwards (which you do) but also about correcting things that may be going awry with your body. Also, we really appreciate the consistent experience we have with I.T. The prices are excellent and if you go regularly and get a "membership" (as we have), you save even more. We get our first massage each month for free and every hour massage after that is only $45. How can you beat that? Truly excellent clinicians who know exactly what they're doing. This place was a Godsend!

David Black is both an instructor, training new massage therapists, but also an outstanding clinician himself. He truly knows the body/systems and is excellent about making you that you know exactly what is going on with your body (if you have pain, an injury) and what you can do (outside of massage) to help. My husband had plantar fasciatis and within several sessions, it was completely resolved. Anytime we meet someone who has physical complaints, we give them David's card. I've never had a "conventional" massage from him, but have gotten a lot of "bodywork" from him over the years as I've had injuries and ongoing physical pain issues. A session with him is a really complete body session, focusig on your issue(s), and he has certainly gone well over the hour when needed (more like 90 minutes often) based on my pain level or the complexity of the issue. He uses a lot of diferent modalities depending on your needs and is very highly trained. I appreciate that he continually reads, studies and learns, in order to hone his skills and be able to provide what someone needs. Wtih David, it's not just about "giving a good massage" (although that's a goal) but whether or not you're getting what you need from the session and if problems resolve quickly. I really appreciate that "outcome" orientation. David is the consummate medical clinician and I just cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone who has acute or ongoing issues with the body.

Al is wonderful!

Massage isn't just about relaxing and it isn't merely a self-indulgence. It is about your well-being, mobility, and your quick recovery from injury or surgery. Alton Lynch has an impressive knowledge of anatomy and medical massage theory. He is compassionate and caring, but he is also respectful. He is strong, but he is also gentle and careful. And he gives an absolutely wonderful massage. My daughter, who has cerebral palsy, and I have been seeing Al once a month for ten years. He has been a tremendous help to us and to several people we recommended him to. We personally have found that Al is able to help us achieve goals for range of motion and mobility with far greater success than our physical therapist. He really is A-1.

Debbie Garner Massage and Bodywork Therapist (LMBT#14520)

Debbie is able to identify the trouble area's even when it was not apparent to myself. I have been able to find relief from pain and increased mobility where I found it hard to walk without severe pain and tightness. I'm able to look forward to Spring and being more active thanks to Debbie. Debbie also gave me some excellent advice on stretches and self massage to ensure that I don't re-injure myself. Best therapist I have ever had by far in over 30 years of managing my condition.

She'll make you smile

Cappy is the therapist I've been coming to for almost a year for very specific trigger work. I'm in management and carry a lot of stress around with me. Cappy has been the angel in my cell phone that I can call to book a healing session. In order for me to have the maximum benefit (or maybe I'm spoiled!!), I am a definite repeat client and would highly recommend her to anyone without hesitation. Treat yourself!!

Being a massage therapist myself, I'm very picky about my bodywork. Cappy is an excellent massage therapist. her work is very thorough and precise. When I have muscular pain she is the therapist that I call. Very professional!!
