I have been been going to CDH for many situations since 2006. My experience spans 7 years of differing needs that have been met through CDH and its staff. In 2007 my 2 yr old son had surgery to repair a hydrocele condition, although I was a frightened mother I was treated with much respect and given great encouragement and instruction during and following his procedure. I have been seen in the ER for reasons stemming from Migraine physical injuries (mostly by my kids). I have never had a bad experience. My third child was born at CDH following a high risk pregnancy where she was born at 28 weeks and stayed in the NICU for 6 weeks. My experience with all of the doctors and nurses were superior. The nurses displayed immense empathy and wonderful support doing my daughters stay, and the doctors NICU doctors were awesome towards me and my family. I felt deep appreciation for all of them. My emergency care during the week prior to her delivery was handles with extreme care and caution and the nurses went above and Beyond in their care of my problems. One nurse gave me neck and shoulder rubs to help with the pain and stiffness of being on bed rest, while other brought me sound machines to provide me with a relaxing environment. These nurses were wonderful. Most recently my 7 year old son had an ER visit on his birthday and the staff went out of their way to give him bday wishes and even out together a gift bag for him. The intake person came in and showed him some silly magic tricks to cheer him up. My son was so down and in tears before our arrival, but after we left he felt appreciated and in better spirits despite his discomfort. I can't understand some of the one star reviews because based on so many years of experience with CDH, I have to say it is one of the best hospitals in the western suburbs of Chicago. The stag tries very hard to ensure you are well taken care of. They always follow up the next day upon your discharge to make sure all is well, and they have an incredible staff if too notch doctors, from urology and neurology to orthopedics and pediatrics as well as gastroenterology, been through them all. You cannot go wrong with your care here. There may be moments someone drops the ball, to err is human, but I am a loyal patient to this hospital and have great faith in their services.
Although the staff were very friendly, the cost to visit a Cadence Health urgent care for a simple doctor visit (10 minute consult) is astronomical - the highest I have ever seen in visiting several different urgent cares in the state of Illinois. I would highly recommend going to an Advocate site instead!! In questioning the cost with a representative, I was simply told that "healthcare is expensive" and they were not willing to process my questioning the coding of the service provided :(. A bad experience overall!
Sure! Its a beautiful hospital. Yes! The regular staff is friendly. AND the food in the cafeteria is superior to most facilities of this type....HOWEVER...why is it you go to a hospital?
If you or your loved one is in this place, be on guard and pay strict attention to everything they do. The decisions of their surgeons don't seem to be the best. Many nurses are wonderful but they can't carry the load of all and there are some that should be elsewhere.
this has been my opinion for over 30 years since I was a teenager and had a bad experience there through my mother's stay when the cleaning person unplugged her ventilator to plug in a vacuum cleaner (and it was in the RED outlet!!!!)
I would avoid this facility if at all possible.
