I train mainly BJJ with Kai Thai but also do a bit of Muay Thai. The classes are great, the environment is energetic and the group of people training are awesome. The arts offered at The Kai Thai Academy are fun, but more importantly they are functional. God forbid I ever have to use my training in a real life / street situation, but I am comfortable knowing that how I train will give me an advantage over a an average thug or drunk that one might encounter while in public. ............and I say this having a black belt from one of the traditional Korean martial arts. The functionalilty of Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling FAR SURPASS that of which you learn with arts like TKD or any other run-of-the-mill mall front Karate school. I spent years studying TKD... years. What I've learned in a few months of Muay Thai and a year in BJJ opened my eyes to the truth. There are functional martial arts and there are the artsy martial arts. The difference between the two are BIG. So, in my opinion if you are looking to learn a real self defense system all while having fun and getting into shape, at the very least you should stop in and check them out. The Kai Thai Acaedmy of Martial Arts has my full support. 5 stars without any doubt.
