Dental Examination
Once you have explained your dental concerns and a thorough dental examination and necessary radiographs have been completed, a treatment plan will be developed. Written explanations of most procedures and problems are available and will be offered to you. Advantages and disadvantages of treatment, risks of treatment or no treatment, options and costs of treatment will be presented. Any questions you have will be answered before treatment begins.

Teeth Cleaning
Adults over 35 lose more teeth to gum diseases, (periodontal disease) than from cavities. Three out of four adults are affected by periodontal disease at some time in their life. The best way to prevent cavities and periodontal disease is by good tooth brushing and flossing techniques, performed daily, and regular dental cleanings with our dental hygienists.
Fluoride Treatment
We provide individual care for all members of your family. Our comprehensive dental services include preventive (teeth cleaning with exam, sealants, fluoride treatment), restorative (fillings and crowns to fix decayed, chipped or broken teeth), cosmetic (tooth whitening, tooth colored fillings, and veneers to enhance your smile), and prosthetic (natural looking bridges, partials and dentures to replace any missing teeth). We further offer prompt emergency care and accept most dental insurance.
Dental Sealants
Tooth decay and children no longer have to go hand-in-hand. At our office, we are most concerned with all aspects of preventive care. We use the latest in sealant technology to protect your child's teeth. Sealants are space-age plastics that are bonded to the chewing surfaces of decay prone back teeth. This is just one of the ways we will set the foundation for your child's lifetime of good oral health.

Fillings
At some point or other in ours lives, most of us wind up with a cavity or a broken tooth. In most cases, a cavity calls for your dentist to remove the decay and to fill in the tooth area that was removed. Most of us have had amalgam fillings (silver) or gold filling restorations. Metal fillings were effective, but very conspicuous and tended to blacken in color over time.
Resin Composite
Composite resin tooth colored dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional metal dental fillings. Tooth fillings colored to look like a natural tooth are known as Composite Resin Dental Fillings and are made of a plastic dental resin. Composite Resin Dental Fillings are strong, durable, and make for a very natural looking smile.
Veneers
Many times, the demands of cosmetic changes in the mouth are too great for simple bonding of tooth colored fillings. This is when porcelain laminate veneers may be used. Porcelain laminate veneers are quick, painless, and dramatic. They can change shape, color, size, and arrangement of teeth or any combination of these factors. They can be used as an alternative for orthodontic treatment. The best part about porcelain laminate veneers is that they can be placed in 2-3 visits. We usually recommend tooth whitening prior to completing any veneers, to further enhance your smile.
Crowns
Grinding your teeth, an improper bite, age, fillings and tooth decay can all be contributing factors in the wearing down, cracking or breakage of your teeth. Dental crowns cover the entire visible surface of your affected tooth and add strength, durability and tooth stability.
Bridges
A fixed bridge will help replace missing teeth to normal function and enhance your comfort because it is not removable.
Dental Bonding
A special dental bonding agent is then used to open up the pores of your tooth's dentin and roughen up the surface of the exposed enamel. This achieves a better and stronger bond. The bond resin is applied to stick the composite to your tooth. This material is made of the same dental resin as the composite however it is much more fluid. This layer is then hardened and cured with a very bright light.

Root Canal Treatment
A toothache or a sensitive tooth can be caused by several different types of problems. At times it is a sign of a dying nerve inside the tooth. Over-the-counter pain relief medication can temporarily relieve the pain. Contact us for an appointment as soon as you notice the problem. Slight pain, if left untreated, can progress into facial or oral swelling and severe pain. Commonly, tooth pain can be eliminated with endodontic treatment (root canal therapy).

Tooth Extractions
After tooth extraction, it's important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. That's why we ask you to bite on a gauze pad for 30-45 minutes after the appointment. If the bleeding or oozing still persists, place another gauze pad over the wound and bite firmly for another 30 minutes. You may have to do this several times.
Bone Grafting
This screw type implant is shaped like the root of a tooth. This is the most commonly used implant and is used where there is plenty of width and depth to your jawbone. If your jawbone is too narrow or short for placement of the Root Form implants, bone grafting may be needed to allow for their placement. After you've received anesthesia, the implant surgeon will expose an area of your jawbone and prepare the bone for the implant. The number of incisions and bone preparations depend on how many implants you need. The implant will be set into place and your gums are closed with stitches. It will take three to six months for healing. After you've fully healed, your implant is uncovered and an abutment is attached.

Teeth Whitening
Discolorations can be caused by staining, aging, or chemical damage to teeth. As the tooth continues to age, more yellowish dentin is deposited on the inside of the tooth, making the pulp chamber smaller, and this can give the tooth a yellowish, reddish, or grayish color. Tooth dullness or staining is an indication that whitening should be considered. Smokers and those who drink coffee and/or tea on a regular basis accelerate the discoloration and require cleaning more often.
