I had my ex there for the 28 day program in 2013 and again in 2014. I made it clear that he was not to go home but go directly to a long-term 24 month program in the mountains and they agreed and said they even have transport there. The 28 day program in Wilmington was just to build his strength. I told them that sending him home instead of long-term care would be a death sentence for him. He cannot be back in th... view more

Horrible place. I was there in 2012. Wait in line for HOURS for meds while withdrawing from whatever. People having seizures in line. A couple of fights a day. Food is worse than jail food. Seriously. Counselors Are ok but overwhelmed. You can get any drug you want. They should be shut down. Fellowship hall in Greensboro saved my life.

I stayed here 28 days in 2006. The center had just gone from being a free mix of male/female to no talking or communication between the 2 sexes. No problem except the facility was not designed in such a way as to logically separate the sexes. If you were caught even saying hello, you were given a strike. Three strikes and you were kicked out and your money kept. While I was there, a 78 year old man stopped an 18 ye... view more

Wilmington Treatment Center is by far, the worse treatment facility I have ever come in contact with. They will literally tell you anything over the phone to get you to come there. Then, if you try to leave, even to go to a different treatment center, they will threaten you that your insurance will not pay them because they will say you left AMA/ACA (against Medical Advice/Against Clinical Advice). They will take you... view more

It is not a safe place for somebody with a dual diagnosis. My daughter did not see a counselor on a consistent basis even after being exposed to drugs on the campus. She overslept and her medications were withheld! With the severity of her mental illness, this is very dangerous. The communication between ourselves (her parents) and the facility was terrible. We had to leave repeated messages and did not receive... view more

This place held my daughters personal belongings including ID and prescriptions for 3 weeks. She was unable to travel to a center in Florida, fill any meds and ended up committing suicide. I will do my best to file a lawsuit and get this dump disaccrdited. They are chronic liars.

1. Don't trust the phony empathy of the intake "counselors." they're only there to sucker you into signing on. 2. Overbooked and understaffed. My child got none of the "integrated mental health & addiction services" he was promised. 3. Chaos and poor communication are the norm at this facility, all day, every day! 4. Back mold rampant in the partial care/group homes. 5. Cheap nasty food. ... view more

Stay away! Choose any other place but this one

I went to Wilmington treatment center in 2007 and it was such a tramatic experience that i'm drinking more than ever now and had to go therapy to recover from that experience. I had mold growing in the shower, they treated the patients like animals (worse than prisoners) THe director treated her staff the same I guess they took it out on all of us. They had Nothing to do that was positive, the food was horriable. ... view more
