My mother was taken here (April 2012) after a week in the hospital for a heart attack. Her mind was unaffected but she still needed nursing attention for a few days. She was placed in the 'skilled nursing' wing where seemingly all other patients had lost their minds and mobility. She had very limited nursing attention overnight and no rest, bothered by the other 'inmates' singing, talking gibberish, etc. The nursing care was indifferent, they spilled a bedpan over her and thought it funny. We checked her out of there after a day. Do not put your loved ones in this facility unless they are already mentally disabled and won't mind the looney-bin atmosphere. Try for extended hospital care until your loved one can go into assisted living, where they will have to have some mobility and independence, or go straight to in-home nursing care. Or find a rehab or short-term facility that comes highly recommended for TLC and compassion, not a 'medicare money-mill' like Shipley Manor where the infirm go to die.
