A few nights ago my family and I payed a visit to San Antonio on behalf of my grandmother. You know, a nice change of pace other than mexican food:) And I think its safe to say that we were absolutely delited with the cusine. So many varieties and the deserts were to die for! Big plus on the menu. However the only down side was the paticular waitress of the evening. Practically ignored us when asking for refils, behaved childishly when on the other end of the resturant(as if we did'nt notice!), then above all; followed behind us to ensure we'd tip her. Diana I think her name was. It sure was an good night spoiled by shoddy service. Never the less, the food was magnificant and the homemade rootbeer had me yearning for more!:)YUMMY!!! Needless to say it is worth a return trip...just maybe a differant wai
Always recommend Mi Tierra's to out of town guests. In my experience the food is always good. They are always busy and therefore service is not very quick however they can not be blamed for being busy, rather it's a testament to their reputation as a restaurant. Once you sit down the service is very acceptable. The atmosphere is festive and gives diners a real feel for the heart of San Antonio's spirit. There may be better samples of mexican food but with it's Riverwalk location, mariachis and ambiance it always impresses.
This restaurant has an exceptional chef's salad, a variety of great sandwiches...my personal favorite is their tuna salad, a variety of fresh soups daily and baked potatoes with toppings of your choice. McAlister's is famous for their iced tea and it is terrific! The atmosphere is fun and family friendly. All food is ordered at the counter and brought to your table by the wait staff. If you are looking for all-you-can-eat, this restaurant is not for you.
