Get A Move On

On Dec 28th I hired 'Get A MOVE ON' to move my household belongings. In the process, they damaged a number of items and attempted to hide the damage. Some items were found broken in dumpster and others they intentionally did not mention. I filed their claim forms on 1/09/18 and received email from them on 02/01/18 with severe depreciation of the items. A $1300 pillow top mattress, purchased on 01/13/12, they tore 6"x6" hole in and then tried to claim it to be beautification damage and offered $238.56. Confirmed by myself and 'Get a Move On' with Horton's Furniture to be unrepairable/unreplacable! I disputed the amt as not being a beautification item but permanent damage affecting functionality of mattress and will continue to rip with usage. They agreed to increase offer to $477.02 bringing total damages to $665.39 (includes other damaged items.no deductible included in this offer) of which I signed and provided back to them (nothing for Oak Desk) The Oak desk they agreed to repair or allow me to repair with them paying $511.02 (with receipt) in their email but they then offered to pay the $511.02 and avoid the repair. I initially asked for the repair but contacted them and indicated the $511.02 would be acceptable. Indicated the repair or money offer, their choice, would be acceptable. This would bring the total to $1176.41! I have since rec'd an email they will now only pay $150.00 (in lieu of $511.02) for the Oak Desk repair and deduct $250.00 for deductible (waived in the signed agreement) bringing their total offer (desk repair now completely excluded) to $415.39. I have kept all email regarding the matter and their signed agreement along with receipt for the mattress retrieved from Horton's furniture. Good Luck using these guys! They will hide damages done to your furniture! There ins. is the basically the same as having 'NO' insurance by the time they get done depreciating the value and adding a deductible.

Move crew was fine.
Office crew tried to slow roll both repairs caused by the move crew, did not respond to calls or e-mails. Had to indicate payment would be held until action was taken. Took 10 weeks to address a damaged coffee table and that was the result of notifying realtors of their performance.

I am thoroughly impressed with Get a move on! I called in an emergency and they went above and beyond to help me. I can't thank them enough, and will recommend them to anyone I know with moving needs. Actually, my boyfriend will be using their services this week!

I recognize my mom can be a little bit difficult to work with, she always want to be in charge of the things, but having Get a Move On team dealing with the move was just the best thing that happen to us, so I would like to mention that it was a very professional assistance. Thanks!!!

Moved this summer 200 miles away from Wichita a pretty long move in my opinion and this company helped me a lot during my move and when the moving day finally came they were on time, on budget and the one broken item was my fault for dodgy packing.
