I am fairly new to owning a BMW. Its been about 2 years and i have been enjoying most everything about the car. The one major downturn that i have found is that when i bought the car used i was told that Jackie Cooper BMW in OKC was the place to go for maintenance because i am from Oklahoma. I did and noticed that things were ok but no personable at all. Then one day I was driving my car and i stopped at a stop sign and it just wouldn't go anywhere. After calling Jackie Cooper they said that it had to be my transmission which was $6000 and that it could only be from me not bringing it in for maintenance or from my mistreating the vehicle. I will not go out and say i am the best driver or even the most cautious but i am often told that i drive incredibly slow for a 24 year man who owns a BMW. Their service had failed to see that the CV shaft was going bad on my left side when the fixed the right side not long before that. Aside from that their service people were rude and obnoxious. They made a bold statement saying that it was my transmission before ever seeing the vehicle. I instead made a phone call to Joe Self BMW in Wichita, KS which is about the same distance from my house as Jackie Cooper BMW in OKC. They weren't willing to make any assessments over the phone without seeing the car. They also helped me get the car to them at an incredibly reasonable price and were willing to work with me on the pricing and the timing of getting the car fixing. The were able to help me get my car fixed for less than half of what i got it fixed for in OKC for the same problem. They also fixed a short in my tail light that the OKC dealer said they fixed when they in fact didn't. The woman that we spoke with in the service department was incredibly kind and willing to work with us to get the problem solved. Overall, i would say that the only reason that i might buy a BMW again would be due to the service i got at Joe Self BMW. And if i do in fact buy one, it will be from Joe Self BMW. Wichita really is worth the drive if you are in within that area. Its a great city that is not much different from OKC but in this case the service was.
Great experience!! I bought a 2015 Passat last week and I couldn't be happier. Justin Holts and Chris Jonker are not only excellent salesmen, but they are friendly, accommodating, honest and very helpful. The day after I left the lot with my new car, I got a phone call ensuring I was pleased with my purchase. Today, I went back to finish one last piece of paperwork and was welcomed at the door by both of my salesmen with genuine smiles on their faces. Not only was I in and out of there without any delay, but I also received a complimentary car wash, massage and manicure! Did I mention that this was FREE?! :D Clearly, I've been very impressed. Needless to say, I had such a great experience and I would recommend this company/dealership to anyone and every one. Thanks again Chris and Justin!
In response to Madison's review: We understood the concern as a first time working mom having to trust new people to care for her children. What she did see on the playground was her son adjusting in the first 30 minutes of being dropped off. He was crying, as many new kids do. The staff tried several techniques to calm him, but under my advice I said to give him options then give him a moment to calm on his own. When he came inside he found a book he liked and the whole momentum changed. Understandably it's hard on both parents and kids to make the adjustments so quickly. On behalf of the staff and facility we regret that was her experience, but many kids take time to settle. We work with many different kids and put our best into helping them in that stage.
