We're from New Jersey and this was our first trip to NC in many years.Staying at the Teddy bear Motel was one of the highlights of our trip.Sure we really enjoyed the sites and scenery but we meet Martha and Leonard who personified ""Southern Hospitality "" Martha is the heart of the motel and Leonard is the man who makes things run smoothly.By the way,he is a great cook and we enjoyed all our meals at the Teddy Bear restuarant.
The rooms were adaquate and if you wanted something a notch higher, they have rooms that rival rooms in bigger motel/hotel chains.
Martha gave my grandson a lovely teddy bear and the smaller one she gave us is on my car dashboard. It's there as a reminder of the fine folks who own the Teddy Bear Motel
We are not related to Martha and Leonard and were not friends UNTIL our stay there. We took pictures with them and are sending them to Leonard to display in their resturant.
If you want a clean and very reasonable place to stay and want to meet friendly folks, the Teddy Bear Motel should be one of your stops along the way.Even if you don't need a room for the night, just stop in,say ""Hello"" and enough a good meal.
Thank you Martha and Leopnard and God Bless,Mike and Peg Luciano 8/1/08
