So unprofessional, cold and uncaring. The bottom line is this company only cares about getting your pet in, taking your money and then churning your pet and you out the door. I have spent several thousand dollars to only have my pet end up worse than when she came in. Seeing as my pet is still in their care due to an out of control bacterial infection, I cannot divuldge too much for fear that they will not finish my pets care. I repeat, the bacterial infection is MRSA. It has been spread to my family because they sent my pet home before they diagnosed it. She was oozing from the start and they just kep telling me that because of my pets surgery, it was normal since the surgery itself was so invasive. This was 4 and a half months ago and now her one MRSA infection has turned into E. Coli and a secondary staph infection. This could be your pet and your home as well. Every person in my family has gotten sick. My pet is also no better as of yet. The last talk was an antibiotic that will damage her bones. My pet was to go in for one surgery and has gone in for 5 total due to mistakes and poor care. They will not admit fault or refund a dime so we can go someplace else. Please heed my warning. Their office is obviously not clean and their staff down to the receptionist will not care, including the CEO. We have been patient and they have expected us to not have an opinion or concern. They have been haphazardly back pedaling for months now and my poor dog has suffered.

I have had good results at WRAH, but have noticed that in the past few years they tend to try to pass you off to a 'specialist' instead of figuring out what's going on. I do have to praise Dr. McKeever, she has worked with me hard to figure out the skin problems my dog has, but, again it's like going to your own Dr anymore," here take these antibiotics and see if it helps". I realize things are hard to diagnose but it is frustrating, he is part of my family and can't talk(in people words) so it's up to me to try to fix it.
The staff has always been great with my dog.....he talks to them and they come around the desk to visit with him.....he has had some major surgery there and still likes to go in and visit the 'girls'
. I think what I have read is just a factor of, unfortunately, the economy and pet medicine going down the same road as people medicine and specializations/ charges. I hope things will even out sooner than later. It's hard to find a good vet....just like finding a good Dr for me.....what do we do?

They only care about money. My dog went in on emergency and they wanted $1300 just for X-rays and a catheter. Then they said the surgery could wait until Monday (which means that they probably shouldn't be charging me like its a surgery that needs immediate attention). Then they told me that the surgery would cost $3000-$4000 (the surgery was so remove a simple blather stone that was inabeling my dog from going to the bathroom. I told them I could pay them half up front, but since a bank transfer took a couple days, the est wouldn't be available until two days later. So they refused to help him, told me I had to get the catheter in him in two hours or he could die. So we were left frantically calling other vets to get him in immediately because he had minimal time before his blather ruptured.

1. I found the exact same treatment for $800 at another vet
2. They suggested putting him down if I couldn't pay the $3000-$4000 immediately OVER A BLATTER STONE
3. They wouldn't give him back until I paid them which I didn't have all on hand and needed some time to gather, but had to frantically figure it out because my dogs clock was ticking and they wouldn't give him back or help him.

This place cares about money and money only. They take advantage in a time of desperation and have no compassion. Also, I worked a a vet hospital, so I know how it works internally. And I'm begging all of you who rated them well to take your pet somewhere else. They take advantage of people in a desperate time of need. Luckily I found a different vet hospital that was open for another five minutes that day. They took him in, helped me immediately, and the charge was $800

I had a sick Kitten, after visiting several other vets, I came here because of the excellent reviews. The facility is nice, the set up is nice, aesthetically pleasing etc. Before I walked in the door, they had promised to collect the data from the other vets so nothing was repeated and to avoid me telling the story. I get there, I have to tell the kittens life story because nothing was done. She then did do a good job explaining the possible issues and solutions. She also said, we don't know what the problem is. (We don't know what we are doing) Her comprehensive $112 "exam" was listening to his lungs and nose. When I received the bill, I could not believe the amount.

Following up, I was sent about 5 surveys about this one visit. Some from 3rd party vendors and some from the hospital. The after the round of antibiotics, (The other medication did nothing) the symptoms came back WORSE than they were prior to the visit. I called to ask who I could speak with for a refund so I can take him elsewhere. The lady told me I had to speak with the doctor about that. I left the doctor a message about the situation. The assistant calls back to "check in" I explain the situation AGAIN. She of course offers another visit ($112+) When I state I want a refund, it is hands off at that point and she no longer wants to talk to me. She later calls and says that the doctors message to me was "take your cat to another clinic since money is a problem for you". (I have spent $800 in vet bills with no results.)

Everyone loves when things go well. I understand errors happen. For me it is in how the company resolves the issue that matters. Had the staff agreed to make things right in one aspect or another I would not be on here posting this review. However it is in how you resolve the issue that says a lot about the company. I learned this place is all about money. I am not a medical professional at all had to figure out that the cat was just congested, a vet with years and years of training never thought to give him something for congestion. You go to a human doctor for a cold, you will walk out with antibiotics and a decongestant. How simple is that? You do not always get what you pay for.

I brought my dog there bc she is very sick. A two year old dog, in her prime and she hadn't eaten like normal for 3 days. She seemed to have trouble going number twin and seems to be in pain when walking. Long story short, I spent 4 hours there and over $700 for an X-ray, urinalysis, a bag of lactated ringers (to take home), and bloodwork to be completed only to not find the cause.
The next day (today) I called asking someone to look at her file and tell me if it is possible she could have been poisoned. They said yes, it is possible. So I asked if she ingested rat poison a week ago was there any treatment options available to help. She gave me generic bs avoiding the question. I asked her 2 more times, phrased differently, and she still wouldn't give me an answer.
I hung up, called back, asked the lady ( Megan) to look up my file and get me a doctor who would answer a direct question directly. At this point She started jumping to their defense, claiming that it, "Depends on what the question is." For whether or not they would be able to answer it. I began to explain what the direct question was asking and she interrupted me, claiming that I was yelling (I absolutely was not) then she hung up on me. Called back, same thing. Oh, and apparently they have no supervisor there at all times. Guess that's how they get away with treating customers this way.
To spend over $700, not make any kind of diagnosis, then refuse to answer a question simple as this for my dog, who is still suffering from the same thing as the day before is way, way unacceptable.
Also, they will not allow you to stay with your dog, which I am not a fan of either and for something routine, I would have found someone who would have. Guess I really would have been better off doing that this time too. All about the $$$ here, not about your animal.
Don't get me wrong, most of the people are nice in the office, so long as customer don't expect simple, direct questions to be answered.
I have done my job, proceed at your (your pets) own peril!
I just really hope to find someone competent tomorrow if she still doesn't improve.

They blew an obvious diagnosis and my kitten dies 2 days later. We took outlet kitten to the 34/7 ER for help. It ends up she had a string stuck inher mouth. The ER charged us 400 dollars for x-rays but didn’t find the string in her intestines.

The next day our vet found the issue in 5 minutes by looking in our kitten’s mouth. 5 minutes.

Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is imcimpetend and out for lonely only. Beware.

I have never had any issues with this Hospital and find it crazy that anything this person stated could've happened. I would highly recommend their care to anyone needing a place to take their pets!
