I would like to say, Lorraine made me a wonderful blue pillow for my back at work and it works great. My friend liked my pillow and she borrowed it too. Until this past Christmas when I asked Lorraine to make another pillow and that came out beautiful and she loved it!!!
I would recommend Lorraine for any type of seamstress work.

I would just like to say that Lorraine Lumley has been doing all my sewing repairs for the past 5 years and she does a great job!
She is an honest Christian Lady and her goal is to make you happy. She is vey proud of her work.

I would give no stars if possible. She was a very sweet lady however her work did not amount to our expectations. She messed up my daughter's prom dress and then had to pay another seamstress to fix the horrible job she did on a $170 dollar dress. Again sweet lady but I do not recommend her based on her services and her inconsistency.

I always look forward to my lessons with Lorraine as learning to sew was always on the bucket list but I could never find the time. Lorraine would always try to accommodate the lessons to my hectic schedule. She has great knowledge of sewing from pattern reading, MAKING, choosing and cutting fabric, darting, hemming, proper fitting using one's own body form for exact fit, proper use of the sewing machine and serger. She also instructs proper cleaning and maintenance for all equipment. She boosts your confidence and helps you overcome all sewing challenges. My sewing lessons from Lorraine at My Sewing Room has even given me
the gift to sew making useful crafts for others as I now make microwave heat pads for my patients with muscle and osteo issues. This venture was a gift from my husband for my 50th birthday and the best gift ever.

Remarkable patience and expertise with teaching. I learn so much in the time with her and get creative shortcuts as well as professional techniques and the one-on-one cannot be found anywhere else for the price and value.

After receiving such wonderful service from Lorraine on the alteration of a bridesmaid dress, I returned to her for some alterations on a full-length gown. I was in a time crunch, and fortunately Lorraine was able to beautifully hem my dress in one night. It looks perfect!

REMARKABLE QUALITY !! Lorraine is a joy to work with ! She goes the extra mile, and pays special attention to detail ! My red gown was meticulously hemmed and presented ahead of schedule, pressed - and my custom decor turned out fabulous !

Lorraine was wonderful! She returned my initial phone call within two hours of inquiring about her business and scheduled my first fitting within days of original contact. Lorraine was professional, timely, and affordable. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my clothing with her and trusted her to make the alterations. She listened to my requests (in terms of comfort and fitting) and made appropriate suggestions and solutions. She did a wonderful job! I will definitely be a returning customer.

I contacted her to learn how to sow a zipper and saw that from first class there's so much more to learn. Weeks of lessons I sowed pajamas and a work blouse, both with advanced learning techniques: Channel binding, bias binding, gathering, setting sleeves, etc. I appreciate what i learned and carry it into all types of garments.

Lorraine is a great teacher! I am very new to sewing as it was always something I wanted to learn. She advised me on the purchase of my first machine and we moved on from there! Lorraine taught me from reading the pattern, to cutting it out, to sewing the pieces together and helped me complete my first ever toddler outfit! It's so adorable! She is always patient and answers all my questions. I highly recommend her as a sewing instructor.

I came to Lorraine not even knowing how to thread a machine. In less than a month of weekly meetings I was drafting my own patterns and sewing my own swimwear. Lorraine is everything a teacher should be - patient, understanding, creative, and knowledgeable. Her passion for her craft is evident in all that she does. Meeting Lorraine has been such a wonderful experience for me and she is an excellent instructor who goes above and beyond to meet each of her students needs. She is very attentive to detail and extremely patient. I have never had any prior experience to sewing and now I am creating my own headwear accessories. Lorraine does great work. She's very diligent and conscientious to get it to fit just right! The dress I brought to her (David's Bridal) was pretty complicated and it came out lovely!

Lorraine is a serious sewing guru. I have never met someone as patient and fun and easy going as her. Yet she is pretty good at adapting to people especially with my ADD lol. She's a great teacher. My wife has learned so much and is on her way to develop her own designs thanks to her. You won't regret these lessons.

Lorraine is my go-to for all types of alterations! I have been using her for years and I am always more than happy with the result. Her work is detailed, well done, and reasonably priced. She really spends the time to make sure every garment fits me like a glove! You can tell she has a natural talent and passion for sewing. I am convinced she can do anything! She has worked on many, many pieces of mine from simple hems and alterations to recreating garments that 'just weren't right'. Lorraine comes highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!

This woman will procrastinate then never produce an item. Her workspace is unkempt and she will over promise and under deliver. I never received a final item-but she did refund my money for materials spent. This interaction went on for seven months and she finally admitted she could not do the work. A waste of time.
