Screen Room
I highly recommend Florida Screen Builders. From the moment I met the salesman to the completion of my screen room, everyone was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. The construction is amazing and I can see why it will withstand a hurricane. I love my new screen room!

Just the begining and already a Horrible Job!!
I spoke a salesman in January 2010 to extend my patio and screen it in. Fl. Screen Buikders started the job last week. 4/26/10 They never called in advanced to let me know when they were coming to start. I called and complained to Rob the project Mgr. that I wanted to be informed when people were going to be on my property at least the night before. He said he would and he was sorry. The concrete was poured the end of that week. I called the project Mgr. Rob to inform him that the concrete was uneven and they left a mess all over my yard. He said he would get back to me and talk to the guys. He never got back to me.Today right before they came to my house they call to say they were finishing up the concrete. I called the man back and expalined my concerns. He stated he would fix it and clean the mess up. I came home today 5/5/10 and the mess is worse. It is still uneven and there is chucks of concrete missing on the bottom of the slab. I called the Project Mgr. again and he really had nothing to say and cant come out until 5/8/10 to see what I am talking about. So as far as I see the Project Mgr. does not follow up. He should of went out right after my first concern. Don't use Florida Screen. I can see this is going to be a nightmare. I took pictures of everything. But the worst part of this my daughters Graduation in Jue 3 and I am having a big party and this job probally wont be done. Or it will be an unsafe area for my guest.

In response to this Michele's complaints, we did make an attempt to contact the customer, I believe we left a message and we had given prior notice days before that the crew would be out sometime in the next few days. The uneven concrete that Michele's is referring to was at the bottom(as she states) and that is where the concrete slab meets the ground, well the earth is not perfectly even and what she was looking at was excess slag that is left after removing the form boards. Also her existing grade had a dramatic slope and we had to bring in extra fill to build it up after the slab was poured. Michelle made this complaint in the middle of a unfinished project without any understanding of the process. We also brought in extra fill, at no extra charge to her, and the yard was regraded to suit the new slab. What she called a mess was the excess materials and fill that where needed as part of the project. The entire site was cleaned and graded in due time but the work was still in progress. As you can see there are no complaints that where made at a later date because the project was completed to her satisfaction. Bear in mind this complaint was made in the middle of a process which is very messy and to the untrained eye looks like chaos and a disaster. Ever go by a construction site while they are in the middle of the project? To complain and say the place is messy and doesn't look right would not be a fair statement. You have to wait until the project is finished. We build hundreds of screen enclosures and patio slabs every year, our track record speaks for itself. However the odds are that someone may not be completely happy with certain events, either through a misunderstanding of the process or conditions beyond our control or someone just makes a mistake. The bottom line is we always rectify the situation and due what it takes to ultimately make the customer happy. As I said before Michele did not complain about the finished project and simply reacted to what was going on at the time. However in all fairness to Michelle, I do believe she had a legitimate complaint about the lack of communication and I have since put into effect certain procedures to prevent this sort of misunderstanding from happening again.

Zero Defects - Flawless execution
When I first met with their saleman, he provided me with a list of customers. I actually called four or five of them. When I told them that I was calling for a reference, they were immediately at ease. A good sign I thought. They were more than willing to share their positive experience with Florida Screen Builders. Several folks even invited me over to see their screen enclosure. So, I had Florida Screen Builders build mine. And, just as the others said before me, I have to report their workmanship as oustanding, as was their price.
Rene is an example of a good person, doing good work, at a fair price. -

On Time
We needed a screen enclosre around our swimming pool for an upcoming wedding shower. Even though the weather was not going to cooperate Rene and the crew delivered on time as promised. I'm happy with both the price and the quality of materials. I highly recommend.....

Rene told us what his crew would do, and that is exactly what they did. It seems simple, but it means a lot. The workmanship is terrific and all of the contractors were very professional. We have already had one neighbor come over and tell us that they want one just like ours. We are completely satisfied.

Great job
After working with several contractors on various jobs around the house, we were left wondering where the pride in workmanship went around here. Well, it still exists with Florida Screen Builders. These folks come when they say they are coming. They get the job done when they say they will. There is little to list on a punch list, and when you do, the items are handled immediately, and with a smile.
Our screen enclosure far exceeded our imagination. The construction is top notch, as confirmed by the Parkland building inspector who came out to sign off on the permit. The design was terrific. We are so happy with the look of the enclosure. The guys that came out to erect the screen were clean, professional and very polite. What a pleasure to work with these folks.
The owner came out several times during the project to make sure everything was going well. He would call to check on the status, and was always available should a question come up. Anything I asked for was done, no need to follow up or double check that the request was handled. It was, the first time requested.
Initially, we were worried that they were located so far away from our home, but that never posed a problem. We did have to wait a while before they could come out to build the enclosure, but the wait was well worth it. We have a beautiful, quality built screen.
This company is highly recommended, and we would use them again in a heart beat if the need arises.

Excellent Job!
Our screened room was just finished a week ago (Aug. 2008) and it was very well built with quality materials. It is the 3rd screened porch we've had built on our house and the first two (built be a different company) were not made nearly as well and had problems which had to be fixed. So...we were on the lookout for problems and there weren't any. Even the city inspector in our city (our city has a reputation for being very strict with code compliance and most contractors dread working in our city) said that it looked like this company was precise with their workmanship and said,"this screened porch isn't going anywhere " to do with standing up to hurricanes. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. Because the owner is also a general contractor he knows a lot more about design and construction than other companies that are just licensed for screened porches. He resolved a construction problem unique to our house and came up with a solution,and it worked out very well because of his knowledge.
