If you smoke, vape, use any nicotine, cannabinoid, and/or ADHD medication, you must be willing to stop for several weeks before and after your surgery.
Immunizations
Dermal filler results are immediately apparent, revealing a more youthful and full appearance! However, you may experience some bruising and swelling, temporary numbness or redness, or hypersensitivity after the treatment. Swelling, bruising, and numbness usually disappear within a few days or weeks after the injections; you can alleviate them with topical icing. In rare circumstances, patients treated with dermal fillers who get COVID-19 or the COVID vaccine soon after treatment can develop late hypersensitivity to their fillers—receiving fillers after having and recovering from COVID or more than two weeks after your vaccination should not pose any risk. I perform fat grafting using general anesthesia at an outpatient surgical center in New Jersey. I have refined my fat grafting technique to give my patients optimal, reliable, long-lasting results. My protocol involves gentle aspiration, gentle filtration, sterile handling, and rapid reinsertion. We recently began employing state-of-the-art safety measures in buttock fat grafting, which include ultrasound guidance placement of the fat.

Implants can be placed above or below the pectoral muscle. I place implants below the pectoral muscle to enhance your outcome and prevent the implant from obscuring future mammography and other breast imaging.
Radiation Therapy
Once you have completed the tissue expansion process, I will schedule you for your tissue expander implant exchange surgery. During this procedure, I remove the tissue expander and insert permanent breast implants. I generally perform this surgery three months after your expansion is complete to let your skin heal. The surgery takes about one to two hours per side, and you are able to leave the hospital that same day. However, if you are receiving radiation therapy as part of your breast cancer treatment, I prefer that you have it while the tissue expander is in. This way, scar tissue caused by radiation can be removed before inserting the final breast implants. Once you have had your exchange surgery, you will start to see a more natural breast shape and size that fits your body during your recovery.

Breast Reconstruction
Latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction is a breast reconstruction procedure that uses fat, muscle, and skin from the upper back ( latissimus dorsi muscle) to rebuild the breast shape after a mastectomy. Your latissimus dorsi muscle is one of the largest muscles in your body, which is located just below your shoulder and behind your armpit. I use a large flap from this area to rebuild your chest in order to create a more natural-looking breast shape.
Plastic Surgery
Oncoplastic reconstruction combines traditional breast cancer surgery with reconstructive plastic surgery. Your tumor is completely removed by your breast surgeon through a lumpectomy. In the same procedure, I reshape the remaining breast tissue to help you preserve a more natural breast appearance and restore symmetry to your breasts. You can be confident in your cancer treatment and how you look and feel after your surgery.
Face Lift
You can go out in public around 1 week after your facelift, but you will be swollen, bruised, and have visible incisions. Lower eyelid procedures and fat grafting combined with facelift surgery will increase the bruising and swelling. We usually recommend allowing at least 6 weeks before any social obligations or big events.

Blepharoplasty
As you age, fat around the eyeball within the eye socket becomes more pronounced, creating eye bags. Cheek tissues loosen from the upper cheek and tend to fall downward, revealing a hollowness under the eyelids. Facial fat volume diminishes, further accentuating dark circles under the eyes, and the skin in this area tends to thin out and become loose and wrinkled. The Illuminize Peel from Skin Medica is the mildest peel out of the three from the line. It is a blend of salicylic, mandelic, and phytic acid. This gentle peel is for those with mild skin imperfections or people who want a quick glow prior to an event and offers no downtime with little or no visible peeling. The Illuminize Peel reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage, and pigment irregularities and offers brighter, more radiant skin. There is a possibility of minor flaking 3-4 days post-peel. This mild peel can be repeated every two weeks and is a great starter peel for those who have never had a chemical peel before.

Health insurers make a distinction between treatments with a solely cosmetic purpose versus those done for legitimate medical reasons, such as breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. That’s why health insurance usually does not cover aesthetic surgery. However, breast reduction surgery falls into a gray area. Most insurers require evidence of specific health problems related to large breasts before agreeing to provide coverage. Those might include a record of physical therapy for chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain or visits to a dermatologist for skin chafing.
