The Jewish Community Center of West Hempstead is the prominent Conservative/Egalitarian synagogue in West Central Nassau County, NY. Founded in October of 1951 by six Franklin Square, NY families, we continue to serve the community with pride and commitment to our Jewish heritage. Our FS/WH community hosts SIX additional synagogues, and is approximately 15 miles closer to Manhattan than Plainview. This is great for those people that work in Western Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan. Commuting time and costs would be cut drastically, and there are many more LIRR stations in this part of Nassau.

There is a 4 square mile Eruv surrounding the community.
