Complete On-Site Optical Center Dr. Walt Bogart has been practicing Ophthalmology for 25 years. He has performed over 20,000 successful refractive procedures. 96% of his patients see 20/20 or better. He is Board Certified and a Member in Good Standing of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has practiced in the Columbia area for over 21 years. Dr. Bogart received his medical training at Baylor College of Medicine. He did his Internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. His Residency in Ophthalmology was in Washington D.C. at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Bogart has served his country in both the Army and the Air Force. During the Vietnam Conflict he was a Helicopter Pilot. After medical school he served as both a General Medical Officer (prior to his residency training) and as Chief Ophthalmologist at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. In March 2009, Dr. Bogart retired with over 27 years of service with the South Carolina National Guard. Dr. Bogart enjoys many outdoor activities in the South Carolina area, including boating on Lake Murray and rowing on the Broad River, flying helicopters and airplanes, biking, watersports, and riding his motorcycle. Dr. Bogart's Professional memberships include: -American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) -American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) -South Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) -International Society of Refractive Surgeons (ISRS) Some of Dr. Bogart's personal memberships are: -Founding Member of the Columbia Rowing Club -Columbia Sailing Club -Experimental Aircraft Association -Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association

        Overall
        Outrageous wait time.

        We waited 2 hours for a simple eye exam, and the facility wasn't even as busy as other reviews complained about Carolina Eye Center online. They told us we were "next" numerous times and that was clearly not the case. The service was fine, but a lot of people complaining about complications. Overall, very aggravating and time consuming. Not worth it at all, and probably won't be returning. Been to tons of places over the years and never waited so long.
