About School Wellesley Montessori School, established in 1974, is dedicated to providing a quality pre-school for 2.9 to 6 year old children in a pleasant, caring environment conducive to learning. The classes have 20 to 24 children of mixed ages with three teachers in each class. The classes meet five days a week, three hours per day ( 9a.m. to 12p.m. or 1p.m. to 4p.m. ) We also have our Child Care Center for those families wishing for additional care ( open from 7: 30a.m. to 5: 30p.m. ) Affiliated with the American Montessori Society, we offer a full Montessori program. The students have exposure to, have lessons in and work with materials in the area of Practical Life, Sensorial Development, Geography, Math, Language ( English phonics, ) and Science. The children spend a part of their class in a group: singing, movement, show and tell, daily class lesson, stories and snack. They spend the other part of the class period independently working, playing and choosing their activities.
