Don't waste your time because they don't want to waste there's.
We walked into the store this weekend. I told the salesman, Steve, we have 10 acres in Webster and we are looking at building a new house and wanted to have my wife talk to him about picking out her new kitchen. He stated " unless you have your builder picked out I don't want to waste 3 hours designing a kitchen and have you pick a builder that doesn't work for us". 1) I have been in sales my whole life and understand the value of a salesman's time. 2) I had no desire to spend 3 hours designing a kitchen when we are just starting to look. I was looking for him to spend 30 minutes to sell me on his products and company. Basic salesmanship, "Earn my business" 3) Was told I was going to get the same response everywhere I went. I gave the exact same story when we walked into Inde and they spent 45 minutes with us and gave the names of suggested builders they work with (which we visited this weekend). They followed up tonight to see if we wanted to sit down and discuss the design of our new kitchen and to give us recommendations for architects. 4) To the owner: the next time Steve says anything about his pay I would tell him he needs to do a better job with his prospective clients to "Earn business".
