We had nasty hardwood floor creaking…
We had nasty hardwood floor creaking right where we needed to walk frequently. No one could solve that problem for more than a year. Some of those whom we asked for help even blamed the humidity after their unsuccessful attempts to find the cause. Monitoring humidity showed that it had nothing to do with the creaking. Finally, that problem was resolved efficiently and completely by Mike, an expert from Schmidt Custom Flooring. Great job! We are pretty happy with the result and highly recommend this company.

Schmidt has such an unexpectedly unique and beautiful showroom. I was able to see so many more options than any other store was even able to tell me about.
Everyone was friendly and genuenly inerested in making my project special. If you want the best then ONLY use Schmidt!!

Schmidt did a wonderful job in…
Schmidt did a wonderful job in refinishing our hardwood floors in our old 1902 home. Tim Schmidt was extremely personable and came out for the estimate. We discovered upon inspection that underneath our kitchen floor was hardwood maple flooring, so instead of having engineered flooring installed, Tim recommended we refinish the floors underneath. It also turned out to be cheaper to do it this way, and I think more beautiful and fitting with the character of our home. We also had some tilework done in the bathroom and this turned out beautiful as well. I can't give a higher recommendation for Schmidt. From the design phase all the way through to the project phase, all Schmidt staff were a pleasure to work with- I highly recommend them for all flooring needs!

I have a very unique hardwood floor for…
I have a very unique hardwood floor for a residental home. It is a Hartco(commercial) floor I had installed when I built the house 20 years ago. I spoke with many floor refinishing companies about re-doing the floor. There was only one company that understood the uniqure properties of this floor. It was Schmidt Floors. Their crew(s) were excellent, on time, and careful. The years of experience these guys had was a testiment to how well the company is opereated and its longevity, My floor looks better that the day I had it installed. Prices were reasonable, the dustless system they used actually worked, and the results were outstanding. If I could attached a picture of how beautiful my floors look, I would.
I cannot recommend this company enough. The reputation preceeded them, and their results confirmed their reputation. -

I don't understand the other review. This company did an excellent job on my house. They installed the flooring, after removing some of my previous floor, and have subsequently sanded and finished it. The whole experience was positive, communication was excellent not to mention the quality of the overall project. My experience was far from the previous reviewer.

Schmidt Custom Floors did a great job on our floor! We had a somewhat unique hand scraped maple floor installed in our new custom home back in 2008. The entire process from initial sale to installation to finishing was seamless and easy. Over 3 years later we are still extremely pleased with the results and will definitely choose Schmidt Custom Floors for our next wood flooring job. They are conscientious and professional in their business dealings and I'd highly recommend them for any wood flooring project.

If you are looking for THE flooring people, call Schmidt Custom Floors. We recently remodeled our 20 year old home and we had them install solid wood floors in our home as well as carpeting. The installers were efficient, timely and polite. They were competitively priced in this horrible economy and the quality of their workmanship showed in the end. We are very pleased and would recommend them to anyone who asks. They even put a sign in our yard to advertise!

We had character grade hickory flooring…
We had character grade hickory flooring installed in our kitchen,living room and hallways by Schmidt Custom Floors. The workmen did an excellent job! They even had 2 separate crews there at the same time so our job was completed quickly. They used the dust containment system so we had very minimal dust in our home. The floors are beautifully done and we will and have recommended Schmidt Custom Floors to all of our friends. It is a wonderful family run company with excellent customer service!

Lots of issues and poor customer service

Had an oak floor installed by Schmidt Custom Floors. Due to their busy schedule, the work was completed over a period of approximately 6 weeks ( a bit on the long side) and I called them numerous times to fix issues which they refused.\r \r Positives:\r Special dust containment system that worked well in keeping dust to a minimum from sanding. \r \r Negatives:\r Installer was screaming at someone on cell phone and was so upset he made some deep gouges in floor while he was using sander. This was not fixed.\r \r Receptionist was very rude - demanded we pay bill before work was completed. Told her that work was not completed - she said that is not what the installer told her. Told her to come out and see for herself. \r \r Buckled/raised floor boards in several places; on the end of one piece of oak flooring board, a large chunk was missing from it - installer installed it anyway and stained it. When I complained he put some wood putty on it (without even smoothing it down) and said there - now it's fixed. I had another flooring contractor come out and cut that section of board out - he was also disturbed by the poor job that was done. \r \r This could have been the result of a poor installer but I had also spoken with several people in their office who were rude and didn't have the sense to come out and check the work that was done.\r \r Bypass this flooring contractor as there are other contractors with better quality work and better customer service.\r \r

I would not recommend Schmidt Custom Floors in Waukesha.\r \r Had them install some floors. . Install was good but they overlooked a lot of things before they finished the floors. \r \r Then when I pointed out the things they forgot , I was told ""that is the industry standard"" You would think after laying off half of there workers they would make a job look better than ""ok""..............
