This is a very nice place. It doesn't even look like a pawnshop. I walked in because I wanted to sell some old gold that I had that was broken and wasn't worth fixing to me. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with a spirited hello how are you. Everybody that works there was very friendly. I had a chain (broken) and a class ring I didn't wear anymore. I spoke to the large Hispanic gentleman that I think is the manager. He was very pleasant to talk to. Very informative guy. He answered all my questions, gave me couple of ideas for getting rid of some other stuff i had that they didn't take. I sold the jewelry for $180.00 which was more than I originally paid for it years ago. He explained that gold is worth more right now so he could give me more money. He told me that since they do such a volume business, on the average they pay 25% more than other establishments. He isn't lying about that because I went to another place here in Waukegan and they told me they could only give me $100.00. The store was very clean and well organized. It looked more like a "Best Buy" electronics store than a loan place. Its definitely not like what you see in the movies or on TV. They also had about 150 guitars from $50 up to $1000. More guitars than Guitar Center! You'll get a kick out of this, they have dollar shaped bushes out in front of the building like in the Richie-Rich cartoons. I would have to say this place is much better that any other pawnshop I have been to!
