This company sucks. They are rude, disrespectful and do not honor the warranties. I never got any carpets cleaned and they basically stole 5 vacuums and an Electolux Carpet Shampooer that was brand new and never used. Do not deal with these idiots. I just hung up with them again, and he was rude and obnoxious.
We've had 2 Kirbys in 40 years. The 1st one we bought when we got married 40 years ago. Never had to do anything but every few years replace the belt. The Waterbury Service center gave us belts for free also polished it! We just bought our second one a Sentria 2. The sale rep was polite and cleaned 2 carpets for free. Our carpets look great! We are bringing old Kirby to our cottage and anticipate many years of use of our new one. Love the quality, easy to use and service is excellent. Thank goodness for good old All American Companies!
I rec'vd a call about free kirby carpet cleaning no strings attached and all I have to do is tell family and friends. Thought it was a great idea to get my overdue carpet cleaned with two kids and a dog it needed really bad. So I said yes to this phone call as long it's no strings attached and she said none.
Salesman came over. It was going good but I just wanted him to clean the carpet. After 2 hours I was pressured into buying it. I knew it was a bad idea but he wouldn't take no for an answer.
So I agree. After I saw what I paid with an 18% sales tax I was motified and I found you can get it cheaper on Amazon. After contacting store to cancel and I wanted to bring it back, the manager insisted I got a great deal. After ten minutes I was about to loose it. I didn't want it and they didn't care if you were finicially stable or not. Salesman came back to take the kirby away but wanted me to think about a 1200 reduction. wow really?? I didn't budge and was able to get him to take it back. I feel bad for the salesman b/c it's he did a good job at selling and it was a job and he was young but what the heck if I didn't call them back I would of paid full price. I'm so glad I was able to cancel it. I got myself into many things that put me in the whole and regretted saying yes and I felt sooo much better that I go myself out of another bill that I couldn't afford. I give one star for the salesman not the product. Sorry!!!
I am a college student at UConn and was home for the summer when my mom got a phone call for a free carpet cleaning from Kirby in Waterbury. My mom said she would take the free cleaning but probably not buy one. The girl that set the appointment said "no problem just spread the good word and keep it in mind for the future."
Now, we have heard nothing but great things about the Kirby and the company and when I saw what a great job it did I was amazed and so was my mom and dad so we bought one!! Worth every penny of it!! Come to find out many people in my family own Kirbys and have had them for years. You cant get a better cleaner or customer service. When my grandmother needed bags the company delivered them the same day she called them.
The salesman Jeff was a great guy, he offered me a job for the summer and I took it.
It was the best job I ever had. I sold 35 vacuums over the summer and won a $5000.00 scholarship!! What a great company to work for! They really take care of there customers and people who work for the company.
I now know why the Kirby Company has been in business for 100 years. All American quality products and people!
If I wasn't going to work for my Uncles accounting firm after I graduate I would sell Kirbys
With all said, I would give Kirby five stars!
Most of the Kirby employees don't last a year with the company. When they hire at first they won't even tell you what you are selling because they know you won't bother coming in for the interview. Type in Kirby Vacuum complaints and you will see all the customers and former employees that have problems with the local distributor, who most of the time won't even use Kirby in their companies name. Don't spend $1000, $1500, $2000.00. I found mine on craiglist for under $400.00.
If you try to buy one they will ask $1500 to $2000 or more, spend hours in your house, and put the pressure on you for what you are told is a free carpet cleaning. If you notice the sales outlets are not called Kirby stores because of the bad reputation of their door to door sales process. Payment plans they offer almost double the price of the vacuum after they figure in a super high interest rate. I am selling my almost new Kirby for over a ton less than they want. Save alot of money and a evening of torture. Call 860-529-6072 You can get a great Kirby also at
email@example.com For only a few hundred dollars it will be yours, why spend a thousand more?
I agree that you can find the latest Kirby vacuums for much less, way under $500.00 . Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more.
