Thunder Canyon Pro Shop is a golf equipment store on the Thunder Canyon property in Nevada. The property was established as a cattle ranch in northern Nevada by Antonio Sala, who originally settled the ranch s 335-plus acres in the 1850s to provide dairy products to the miners of Virginia City, Nev. During his ownership, Antonio Sala secured some of the oldest water rights in the state by recording his farming activities. Although the ranch was successful in its ranching practices, changes outside the historical white fences eventually led to the decision to transform it into a golf community. In the early 1970s, the area surrounding the ranch began transitioning to rural estates as ranchers parceled five-acre home sites to augment their income. This practice continued for the next 20 years resulting in more than 100 estates in the area. The golf store serves the latest incarnation of the Thunder Canyon property. Thunder Canyon is located in Washoe Valley, Nev.
