I moved from Carson City Self Storage to Washoe Valley Storage because I didn't need to get to my RV often. The switch was great because of the savings & how beautiful it is out in Washoe Valley. The covered parking is very convenient. Even though I have a hard time backing my RV in, James came out and helped me back in so I didn't take out one of my mirrors. Having 24 hour access really helps when I want to go on a roadtrip with my husband. The move-in special and low monthly rate are a god-send with the economy the way it is.
I know my RV is secure with a resident manager and I even got to pick out my gate code.
Washoe Valley Storage is the way to go for cheap rates for RV storage!
I rented a facility from this group with the guidance of April, the manager. I had a moving company put my things in storage as I was headed out of town for business. I had plans to fly back into town, go the the unit I never saw and get my change of clothes to fly out for several more months of doing business. I went to the storage unit with 40 minutes to accomplish this transfer from one flight to another. When I got to the units the C building units had numbers on one side from 1-20 and on the other side from 101-120 (in that range). My unit was C31 and there was no C31. All numbers in the entire facility were in the middle of the doors. I drove around for about 25 minutes looking to see if I could find the unit. I went back out to the office and knocked on the door and no one was present. When April had rented the unit to me she told me they were open from 9-5 Monday through Friday. The hours were posted from 9-5 on the office door. It was 11 am on a Monday and no one was available. There were posted phone numbers and no one answered. I was at the office and then went back in and drove around again. When I finally got a call back about 10 minutes later I was told that James, the owner was at the bank and would be back in about 20 minutes. I had used up my 40 minutes and had to leave for the airport. I had not been able to access my clothes and had to buy new clothes at my destination due to not having the appropriate clothes for the work I was going to be doing. I finally got a call from James who had returned to the storage unit asking where I was as I had interrupted his banking trip. I wa angry and told him I was on the way to the airport and I was angry that no onbe had been available during open hours. He hung up on me. I called back and he repeatedly hung up on me. He said that he was demanding that I vacate the unit and that he did not have to have any reason to make me move. He then had April notify me that she was taking another months rent off of my credit card and as my due date was 2 days away. So they took more of my money and told me to leave. I asked for a written letter stating I ws to leave and have so far not received one. So the two storage units owned by James are the Reno Washoe Valley Storage and the Carson City Self Storage. I would not give them your credit card. Know that they do not honor their agreement to be open from 9-5 and available. Know that on a whim James can decide to make you spend your time and money to move again. All because he did not keep his agreement to be open during his posted open hours.
This is very serious and I would not do business with this company. There are other companies that have a cheaper rate for the 10X20 right in Carson City. They designate the hours they will be available and they deignate the hours they will be off. They do business in an honorable manner.
Make a better choice for yourself. James does not have the integrity to honor his agreements and the lack of integrity to choose to damage the person who only wants him to honor his open hours.
