Mike's Meat Packing Washington

Decided to go in on a weekday at around 2. Shouldn't be that busy. And there was only 1 person in front of me, finishing up. So why did I still have to wait ten minutes before being acknowledged? 3 women working, one was leaning against the counter, playing on her cell phone while the other was 'helping' box the four products the lady in front of me purchased. When it was finally my turn, they had nothing! No selection of steak, just strip. No delmonico, no filet, no pork shoulder or stew meat. So I got my 4 items I was able to purchase, which took me 25 minutes. Used to love this place and their selection but with 5 kinds of meat, they won't be able to compete with other packing companies and the new gabby market which has fresh meats and a better selection. Their only saving grace is the meat that was there was fresh.

Mikes use to be hands down the best place to get meat. You could easily go in see a great selection of meat and take it home for a great price and an awesome meal. But now the prices are okay and the meat selection in the case is well dried out and not much on display. So if you don't have an imagination or know what you want you might be drawing guesses from the board. I personally like to see what I am buying. But the meats in the case are dried out looking and not very appealing. Its still a quant mom n pop kind get up there are great ladies waiting on you that you can't wait to go back and see and then there are those that will leave you standing while they go have a smoke. So it can be hit or miss. I have some friends that won't go back because of the m3ats freshness or lack thereof. The hours are wrong on here. They close at 3 on Saturdays and if you want a decent selection get there an hour or two after they open and at least two to three hours before close.

Increased prices and decreased open hours. If you say your open till 4 on Saturday be available for your customers requests until 4. I enjoy your product but have wasted 2 Saturdays coming in at 3 and everything was put away.

The service is friendly. This business has a feel of a good family business. The meat is fresh cut and of good quality. The prices a fair. Should you be shopping for your family I would highly recommend Mike's Meat Packing. They are a little off of the beaten path but well worth the trip.
